Great help during power outages I bought this power station with the solar panels for my parents who live in Cuba, where power outages happen very often and sometimes last more than 24 hours. This has honestly been a huge help for them. They use it to connect lights, a TV, and even the refrigerator, and it works really well. The solar panels make it very practical because they can recharge it during the day without depending on electricity. It has given them peace of mind during long blackouts. In the U.S., this would be great for emergencies or camping, but for my family it has been a real blessing. My parents are very happy with it, and so am I. I definitely recommend it.

Had a chance to try this this week when a driver crashed into a nearby utility pole and knocked out power to our "senior" mobile home park. The storage battery worked great and I think we were the only ones in the park who were able to watch TV all evening. We plugged in the TV, cable modem, and router and it worked great. We left the modem and router on all night for internet and plugged in a lamp so we could get ready for bed. We used a couple of battery operated LED camping lanterns (very handy) for the bathroom and bedroom as the battery is a bit heavy to move around. The crash happened about 5 p.m. and the utility company estimated they'd have electricity back on by .2 a.m. so I wasn't worried about the freezers. Woke up next morning and power was still off however. The battery was down about 50 percent (has good status monitoring). Power finally came back about 9 a.m. after I had plugged in my phone to the battery around 7:00 since it wasn't charging all night - forgot the bedside cord wouldn't charge anything now - duh. Once power back on, plugged battery into the wall and it was back to full in a couple hours charging at 400 watts. It has variable charging settings to preserve the battery but could have been back charged up in an hour had I set it at 1200 watts. Didn't need the solar panel this time but we'll see what happens in a longer outage. We also have a small gasoline generator. This thing is a heck of a lot more convenient for short term outages.

Switching to a solar-powered system has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our home. The setup was smooth, and everything started working perfectly right from the start. It’s amazing to see how much energy we’re now generating from just the sun! We’ve already noticed a big drop in our electricity bills, and it feels great knowing we’re using clean, renewable energy. The system runs quietly, requires very little maintenance, and even comes with a helpful app to track energy production throughout the day. Why did you pick this product vs others?: The Oukitel P2001 plus 2400W Power Station 400W solar panel was one of the least expensive products to meet my requirements as spelled out in the product description: 1) >=2kWh capacity 2) UPS-mode operation (to support residential IT infrastructure network, security, storage) 3) Battery type with at least a decade lifespan. 4) Solar charging option with included solar panel and interface connectors 5) Network/App connectivity to allow for firmware fixes and improvements. 6) Output types - 120VAC, USB-A, USB-C supporting power distribution (PD) charging, and 12VDC (it doesn't have 220-240VAC option, which would have been nice). 7) Portable enough to take outside for charging, yardwork or camping. My biggest concern about the product was the lack of information anbout the seller, listed as YOYOSCX. Functionality: The initial charging with the included 400W solar panel produced less than 200W input on the summer solstice, but It charged as per spec with 120VAC input. Also, it was vexingly difficult to connect with the downloaded Android app, Wonderfree, which seems to require the connecting android device not only to be connected to the same wireless network as will be the power station, but also to a 2.4GHz access point. Bluetooth connectivity is also apparently required. I'm at a loss to understand the connectivity requirements, but I was able to get in touch with the seller through Amazon-mediated messaging. The seller was very responsive in addressing both of my issues; ultimately issuing a return label for swapping solar panels. I was able to establish the briefest of connections to the Wonderfree app, but accomplished nothing useful with it, and once mistakenly powered down the unit anlong with all of the network devices attached to it at the time. The app doesn't seem to provide any function that isn't already available on the power station's display panel (except possible rudamentary remote monitoring/control? Firmware update?). I've run the unit through a couple of complete charge/discharge cycles and it preforms exactly as expected with regard to charge speed and battery capacity. Build quality is nice. It does produce occasional noticeable fan noise during operation comensurate with the power handling parameters involved.
