    • High quality but some things to keep in mind
I've used OtterBox for my work iPhones from the first year they started making them for iPhones. So a long time. They are great at protecting the phone; maybe even the best at protecting a phone while still leaving your phone usable. This one (mine is for Samsung's S24 Ultra) is very beefy, but keep in mind it does not come with a screen cover like some of their other models, so you have to rely on the very large/deep lip and a self-installed screen protector. (I knew this before purchasing). The rubber is very firm and the chassis is sturdy with great drop protection for the S24's sharp corners. The clear poly back is also sturdy, but also know there is a full cutout instead of precisely place holes for the camera lenses. There is a generous rubber armored lip around the camera area, but I would like to see slightly more depth on the lip to protect the lenses against drops. Lens protectors would not be bad idea. These are minor gripes, but the case loses a star for having these when you consider a couple of other issues with them. First, the case makes any phone much larger and much heavier. This is a trade off for this level of protection and the case providing a very grippy easy to hold/grab unit. Second, something that has always happened on other OtterBox cases I've had is that the rubber around the edges where it snaps into the plastic chassis has tended to lose it's rigidity and ability to hold onto those lips, especially around the charge port if you used it a lot. I see nothing new here to prevent that. There is ample room in the charge port area, but due to the thickness of the rubber for protection, you can have a little trouble getting the S-Pen out of it's home, especially if you have large fingers. The upside is that the S-Pen is not likely to become accidentally dislodged. The last things of note is that the buttons are very tactile and clicky and there's a lanyard loop for those that require such a thing. So, this is a very nice, functional and protective case that doesn't have a rubber back like the Defender Pro, but it is a little thinner and lighter and lets people see the back of your phone case if that matters to you. Clean slick style. It is sturdy and seems like it will protect the phone if dropped. The edges are shock proof. I like the clear back so you can see the color of the phone or add your own spin. Would purchase again!
