I usually do not like to write reviews, but this year it was a pain to find good leather case for my iPhone 15 Pro max. Apple went so called “green” way and I tried almost all the cases. I like bottom closed case with no logo . The case I used before this one was Nomad, but the magnet was weaker and after 6 months it started to produce squeaky sounds. The only two disadvantages of the case that it came with other items in the box and was a bit scratched due to poor manufacturing packaging . In addition it doesn’t have leatger smel, but new modern chemical odor. This is why I can only give 4 stars , not 5 stars. My advice just simply do not order anything else from Amazon when you order the case. I have no affiliation with Otterbox and usually had bad luck with their cases, but this one is really good. This is my honest review, I do not live in China and this is not a paid review. ( Try to be sarcastic here) Update: finally decided to add one more star to 5 stars due to military drop protection. Really good case. Way better than Noman , Andar , belroy, etc. The only case I never tried is Ray London bottom closed. ... show more

I bought the purple version and recently the black version. The purple one was rubbing off on the back and side. I got a new one on warranty so fast and easy! I love Otterbox! It’s a great investment for the price we pay for our phones!

    • usb-c cut-out doesn't accept most cables

In its defense, the case is similar to Apple's, with the oval connector. However, most of the usb-c cables in our household are the rectangular style which is slightly larger so the plug will not go all the way into the phone.

    • Intriguing, but flawed

After researching 3rd party leather cases for a while, I decided to try this one out of curiosity. The case looks great and seems to provide adequate protection. The feel of cactus leather will take some getting used to. It feels upscale and slightly plastic-y at the same time but I’m not complaining. It seems like it will hold up well, though I’ve seen reviews mentioning that drop damage can leave nasty scars. The metal buttons feel nice and offer a satisfying tactile click. Edges around the USB cutout could be smoother to avoid pinky discomfort, but I feel like that’s an issue on most cases in general. The main downside for me is that the case doesn’t feel like it’s a perfect snug fit on my iPhone 15 pro max. It’s noticeable when picking up the phone, as you can feel and hear it creak. I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker, but here’s hoping that it doesn’t lead to increased debris inside the case or eventual scratching of the phone inside. ... show more

This case is a perfect fit for an iPhone 15 Pro Max. It feels sturdy and is surprisingly lightweight. It works with the magnetic stands and charger stands I own. The only thing that removes one star from the review probably only affects small percentage of iPhone 15 Pro Max owners: The opening for the USB-C slot is too small to allow some peripherals to be fully inserted into the USB-C port. Note that this is NOT a problem for those who will only use that port for wired charging. However, if you want to work with devices like USB-C thumb drives or wireless lavalier microphone receivers, the opening is simply too small. And, because of the case’s very snug fit, it is difficult to quickly remove the case (which in itself is not a bad thing). One of the advantages of the iPhone 15 series is the ability to use USB-C peripherals with the phone. Case makers needs to be cognizant of this need by at least some percentage of iPhone owners. ... show more

I used to enjoy Apple's leather cases. They were nice, formed a solid patina over the year, were thin and light, and featured powerful MagSave magnets. They decided to go with Finewoven cases instead of leather. I get it, they're made of recycled plastic. But what happens when people get new phones, grow tired of those cases, or they become so damaged people don't want to use them (which usually happens in the first month)? People throw them away and move on with their lives. More plastic in the landfill and leather is biodegradable. OtterBox decided to come up with an ethically and environmentally friendly sourced leather made of cacti. It feels like real leather, is resilient like real leather, and looks like real leather. It doesn't smell like leather, but that's a small notch against an otherwise solid material. I decided to try this case because of all those things and Apple's lack of coming up with a proper leather alternative. I've been a fan of OtterBox cases ever since my Moto Droid X, and this one continues the tradition. Although pricey, the case is protective yet light. It has metal buttons for the volume controls and, my favorite the Action Button. So many cases leave the Action Button exposed. That's fine for thin cases, but most are so thick it makes pushing the button difficult. I stopped using the Action Button when I was using overpriced plastic cases from a "designer" brand because the cases were so thick I would often miss the button, which I have assigned to my camera, and miss important photo opportunities. Not anymore. It's easy to press all four buttons without problems. The case also features MagSafe magnets for full MagSafe charging, it's not just MagSafe "compatible" but full MagSafe compliant. There's a metal camera housing protector on the outside of the case, the only thing protruding from an otherwise thin design. I have a MagSafe battery pack, Apple MagSafe Duo, two third part MagSafe chargers, a Qi charger, and a MagSafe holder in my car. They all work without issues, and I get the full MagSafe charging animation. I have a feeling this case would get dinged up if dropped on concrete, like a real leather case would. But I've dropped mine twice on a hardwood floor and there weren't any issues. Overall, I think OtterBox nailed it with this case. There isn't any branding on the outside. It's an elegant, "leather" case that provides protection for the phone and its camera housing, full MagSafe compliance, and metal button covers that give full access to my iPhone 15 Pro Max's buttons. It's expensive but I highly recommend this case. It will be my go-to from here on out until I get a new iPhone. ... show more
