I used to always have the lifeproof because I was an outdoors kid, not too long ago I found out otterbox and lifeproof combined to put out the frè series and let me tell you something. I’m a welder so there’s metal particles, rust, dust and smoke. This case has kept my phone clean, dust free and waterproof since I bought it. You just can’t go wrong with it, it does what it’s supposed to and protects my phone, the maglock is a plus, makes carrying a wallet or sticking my phone to my maglock holder is just very convenient. It is a well designed case and very durable. I’ve dropped the phone a couple of times by accident and I have very hard floors and the phone was fine. I haven’t tested the waterproof feature yet.

    • Otterbox DESTROYED Lifetime’s trusted case!!

My husband is a firefighter/EMT & works construction. Lifetime has always been his go to case for phone protection, but ever since Otterbox bought them out, they’ve been making it cheaper & cheaper & what he got in this case for his new iPhone 15 is complete garbage. We never had to use the warranty before the takeover & now we are constantly needing to. This case will give you blurry pictures, ruining memories because they use a cheap plastic lens cover that cracks & scratches easily, the foam on the inside lens protector falls apart & if you try to clean it, it just disintegrates. A brand new case properly installed on his phone was dropped 3’ a few minutes later, landing flat on its back on a smooth wood floor, cracking the case & the phone back. It’s fit gets looser over time & makes his voice sound like a terrible connection which is really hard when he works 48 hour shifts or is deployed on a 16day wildfire deployment & only has a minute to call home & check-in, but we can’t hear each other. We have to get a warranty replacement almost every 6 months just for that. For being $100 you should be getting a quality product like Lifetime provided. You are better off going with ANY other case! Opted for the waterproof case given how much the phone will be in or around water. Expected the button actuation to be a bit klunky with the phone inside any case that would actually make it waterproof. I was correct. Side buttons take some force to actuate. The ringer on/off button is actuated by a small knob that is turned. Stubby fingers may have some problems with that. Gave it a 5 as keeping a phone waterproof introduces some significant challenges. ... show more

Bought this to protect my phone from both lake exposure as well as drops. So far it’s done just that! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again…despite the extra cost. It beats screwing up your iPhone with water exposure!! That was a costly lesson!!

Update: removing a star. Have owned this case for about a year. The clear plastic on the case has become cloudy and scratched to the point where the photos are not great. It is still very protected but I’ve switched to a different case. Expensive but rugged waterproof case. Have used it on fieldwork and project work sites in remote areas where it’s been bashed around and dunked but so far so good. Unlike other cases, the phone is fully encapsulated in the case with nothing exposed. Does add a bit of bulk but not excessive if you’re more worried about a functional phone than a pretty one. Can access all features, speakers sound good, photos are good, and no issues with signal receptivity but have noticed face recognition can be a bit unpredictable. ... show more

I have had 2-3 life proof cases for iPhone over 7-8 years. All those cases were top quality, as expected from Lifeproof. THIS case for iPhone 15, I bought November 2024, something felt off, but I decided to keep it. Quality feel wasn’t there. Now after 6-7 months, the back camera plastic is all scratched up and any pictures I take are very grainy. If I have to take pictures, I take the case off. Which is essentially a waste of a case now. I feel like the life proof quality has been lost with Otterbox. Sad to see a quality case become so. Won’t be buying this case again. P.s. I still have my other life proof iPhone XR case on the old iPhone, and it takes clear pics. ... show more
