The best overall phone protector IMO. Has a plastic endo-skeleton that bolsters the phone rigidity, and then the rubber part is carefully constructed to give the corners, edges, and back of the phone extra shock protection. The front has a thin plastic cover for the screen protector. Huge difference when setting the phone down in the car on something smooth and not having it slide around. The one modification I did was cut the little flip tab that covers the charging port. Understood this leaves the port open to water damage, but the last otterbox I had I kept the tab on, and the tab would press into whatever cable I was using to charge the phone. Over time (3 years) I noticed that I would have contact failures when trying to charge the phone. I think it might've had something to do with having the cables being pressed down and possibly causing the internals of the charging port to bend. Price for this one was good too ($40). For my iPhones I ONLY get the Otterbox Defender series. It gives great protection and comes with a built in screen protector so no need to buy an additional one that may be (at least for me) hard to put on straight and without bubbles. Not a lot needs to be said about this case, other than it does what its supposed to do. I am clumsy as the day is long and I have dropped my phone a bunch and this case has kept it intact. Like UAG, OtterBox stands by their products and will replace your case if for no fault of your own something goes wrong (like the screen protector gets loose or the part that protects your charging port is wonky etc) at no cost (aside from 4.99 for shipping). Their customer service alone is enough to make you want to buy this case. So if you are looking for a quality non bulky case that will protect your iPhone I would highly recommend the Otterbox Defender series case. ... show more

    • Otterbox Defender cases protect iPhones very well
I bought this OtterBox defender case for my 14-year-old son for his new iPhone 8 plus. I have been using defender cases myself for the last two phones and love it. No matter how many times I accidentally dropped my phone, the phone is always very well protected. So when my children got new iphones I immediately bought defender cases for them. I could not find a black 8+ case on the OtterBox website so I ended up looking on Amazon and although this product had a little bit of a wait in shipping time, we actually got it right in time for our vacation which we were very happy about. Touch ID seems to work on this case for my son so that is good news but FYI I have no luck on my 6plus defender case. Never worked for me and I actually ended up cutting out the circle for my case because it bubbled up and was a nuisance. ... show more

    • Otter Box, You Otter get one!
This is my third Otter Box and they just keep getting better. I just traded in my iPhone 6s Plus for a 7 Plus. I ordered a new Otter Box to go with my 7 Plus and then found the one on my 6sPlus would still fit. I was temped to keep the old tried and true Otter Box but thee new one looked even more rugged than the old one. I have a bad habit of storing my iPhone in my breast pocket. Its handy there but quit often when I bend over, the phone takes a quick trip to the ground. I've tried using cheaper phone protectors. Each time they seem a little clumsy. It definitely feels like something has been added to my phone and there is ALWAYS one or more buttons that don't line up and don't work right. Both OB cases slipped onto my 7 Plus as though they were part of the phone. All buttons work and you cannot even tell the case is there! ... show more

First otterbox. I usually go with soft cases. Heard good things & wanted the new phone to be safe. Sold & fulfilled by amazon. Cheaper than the store version. It was easy to take apart & put together. There is a thin screen cover. The plastic over the home button is even thinner. There is a bit of a gap between screen & protector, but works fine. Front and back speaker are open. The front piece is flimsy but assembled the rest feels sturdy. Buttons are a bit harder to push. Bottom speakers are open. The silent control and lithning ports are covered by tabs but are easy to open and align properly. I like that the belt clip doubles as an easel. Haven't dropped it yet so don't know how well it works. 8-25-17 I've dropped it a few times and it's okay, not even a scratch or chip. With the heat and taking it off a few times, the soft shell isn't tight and doesn't cling on the bottom. Still seemed to protect fine. ... show more

The packaging was nice. The box it's self is kind of bulky, but that's good for me because It really protects the phone. This case comes with a little plastic screen that doesn't stick to the phone screen, so it was bothering when I would try to text since it was loose over the screen. It's really easy to peel it off and it doesn't damage the case it's self, so after peeling it off it was more comfortable to use. I love this case. My kids had thrown the phone a few times and has cracked once. Honestly I don't see why I wouldn't recommend it beside the plastic screen. And again it's easy to peel off, nothing too serious m, it's just about your preference. But I 100% recommend it over any other case. ... show more

I know there are negative reviews on this product and for the case for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus I would have to agree. The membrane for the home button and the screen guard were not as effective as they could be. The screen guard did not detect many of the touches on it. I had one for an Apple 5s and it worked perfectly. The membrane for the home button was worse to the point I had to remove it. It seems that Otterbox got the message and the case for Apple 7 Plus is everything the previous one wasn't. I have no problems at all with screen guard or the membrane for the home button. In fact, I am writing this review with this particular cover on. Kudos to Otterbox to fix this problem (at least for me). ... show more
