I have both an old pair of Florsheim oxford brogues shoes that have been sadly neglected over the 20 years that I have owned them. I also have a newer causual/hipster tan brogue that has only the front finished and the remainder colored but otherwise unfinished. I purchased the leather salve to revive the old and to protect the new pair. I washed both with saddle soap and dried, then applied the Otterwax leather salve and allowed that to dry. Both the soap with its oils and the salve darkened the leather but not too much. The salve itself goes on smoothly, was readily absorbed by the leather and had a pleasant fragrance. A little does go a long way. After letting it dry and buffing off the excess both shoes looked great. The leather looked nourished and smooth, and the old cordovan brogues came to life. I followed with a treatment with the Otterwax leather oil and allowed that to absorb. Honestly these shoes didn't really need wax after that. The tan shoes lightened up after a day or so but remained supple. The old shoes got a good waxing and look great. Now they clean-up well and take waxing readily. I now use the leather oil on all my shoes the night before I wax them. I highly recommend these products. They are nice to work with and really do the job. I am going to test the salve out on my ageing leather recliner next. P.S. I have no idea why the Amazon review form asks shoe questions and yes I have a lazy dog! P.P.S.-I did try the salve on an old recliner and It worked great. Really brought the leather back to life. It took two applications but the leather is soft and pliable. Definitely worth using this stuff on any leather goods.

I used the Otter Wax to condition and soften a leather tool sheath that was too stiff. It did a good job and left a nice finish. A great thing about it is that it's odorless. If you put it on thickly, it can leave a whitish wax residue around the stitching, as other reviewers have noted, so I removed that with a toothpick. I would very much recommend this product.

I’ve worn my black docs for 5 years and my brown docs for a little less than a year. I really like how the product brings out the shine and rejuvenates the leather. It does leave it feeling a little tacky but with a bit of shining it comes out. Also, make sure you don’t put on too much or it will crust up on the leather and leave white residue. (Pictured are two different docs, my brown and black pairs)

I was amazed by how well this worked on leather of All sorts. I had an older wallet that I used this on and the wallet seemed revitalized, I then used it on a pair of winter boots and was very happy with the results.

I used these on my suede Blundstone’s and they look brand new again. It was easy to apply with a soft cloth and I didn’t have to use a ton (I’d say one 2oz container will do 4ish pairs of boots or maybe 6-8 pairs of shoes). It even took out some moderate scratches, which I was surprised by. Would highly recommend for leather care and will be using this on other leather shoes of mine as well.

Took whomever actually shipped it over a week to get it on the way. I applied the wax with a softer old toothbrush and both pairs of boots look great (bit darker) and will assume will be more resistant to water and snow when it happens.

I didn't like Amazon denting the container before shipping it made it opening very difficult. the salve was very nice to use and easy to apply. made my old worn out gloves very supple and nice so I don't have to waste money another another pair of gloves. Also because it's natural doesn't have those horrible petrochemical smells. Bravo to the manufacturer shame on Amazon has got to learn to stop treating merchandise so roughly during the stocking and packing process!

Product works great, my dog has drooled on a part of one of my leather boots and it was really noticeable. I didn’t think I would be able to wear it again, but I tried the balm and it took it right off. Make sure you don’t use too much. A little goes a long way.
