The media could not be loaded. Product is effective. Smell isnt over bearable. After all, it is a silicone spray so you still get some fumes. Spray in a room with well ventilation or outside. I sprayed my sectional indoors. I have a 10 foot sectional and one 13.5 oz can is enough to do one complete coat with a light second coat to the backing and cushions. Smell diminishes after about 2 hours. Just leave windows open and a fan on. Water repellent works great. Got it mainly for oil based dirt protection. This video is with 2 coats.

poncho and trousers, and it does exactly what I need it to—it keeps my gear from wetting out and helps it dry out much faster. The spray goes on easily, dries clear, and doesn’t affect the breathability of the fabric, which is super important in our humid weather. It worked so well on my rain gear that I’ve started using it around the house, too. I recently got a new sofa, and with two small chihuahuas running around, I wanted a little extra protection from wet paws. A quick spray of Scotchgard gives me peace of mind without changing the texture or look of the upholstery. This product is easy to apply and doesn’t leave behind a residue or odor. The protection lasts about a year, so I have a re-treatment schedule on my calendar. Whether it’s for outdoor gear or indoor fabrics, it’s become a go-to for keeping things dry and protected. I’ll absolutely repurchase annually before the rainy season starts.

STINKS to high heaven! But easy to air out for 2 days. I deep dove in to the search for "best fabric protector" and did not arrive at any one brand being 100% "the best". Being a 3M fan, I went with Scotch Guard. LIght colored fabrics and me do NOT get along. I wear mostly black. I was going to replace my heavily soiled and stained Cashmere (very light tan) LEXUS floor mats with black ones, but decided to stay with Cashmere, but with FOUR coats of Scotch Guard. I bought two cans. One can was enough for four coats of SG on a complete new set of Cashmere Genuine Lexus floor mats for my "new" used 2007 Lexus ES350. Apparently, silicone is not the primary ingredient. But the variety of petroleum products in it are just awful smelling. Count on airing the mats OUTSIDE for two days before using them in an enclosed space. After two days 99% of the odor is gone. BUY this product despite the very fleeting temporary odor. Just something to be aware of. It goes away 100%. Value? If it works, well yeah. Effectiveness? How in the heck would I know? I just applied it. But 3M has more labs and scientists and experience than any other company selling similar products. So....there is that. Right? The car is too nice to have black mats that don't match anything. I don' live around mud or filth, so rubber all weather mats are ugly and not needed. My Lexus Cashmere mats even came with brand new Toyota clips to keep them in place. If the weather turns nasty for any kind of storm, I keep the old driver's side mat to throw down temporarily over my Scotch Guarded new one. IDK how to clean then without removing the Scotch Guard. That's why I bought TWO cans. I have a sealed can in reserve. I think one can clean light soil, several times without having to refresh the Scotch Guard. Still learning about the after care. The brand new mats look AMAZING and make the car look fabulous inside. They might as well be white, the tan is so light, therefore VERY prone to showing soiling. I DONT think they are going to STAIN with four coats of SG on each mat. I expect to re-do (clean, strip, and re-apply the Scotch Guard) the driver's side mat periodically as it gets heavily soiled. The other three mats should last at least a year or more without having to re apply the SG.

Perfect for waterproofing shoes, backpacks and certain jackets. I use them for waterproofing fur lined winter boots, suede shoes and purses that I use often and don't want to ruin in the rain. Decent price; worth it for quantity and how long it lasts. Spray outdoors if possible, it will make the floor really slippery if you use indoors! : )

As a proud owner of furniture that regularly battles sticky fingers, jelly-covered clothing, and the occasional greasy handprint (thanks, kids!), I can confidently say that the Scotchgard Fabric Water Shield has become an absolute staple in my home. This product truly excels at protecting porous materials and fabrics, and it's given me a significant peace of mind. Beyond the furniture, I've also extensively used it on my wool, cotton, and suede shoes, jackets, and hats. It’s been a fantastic preventative measure, and I can't tell you how many times I've silently patted myself on the back for spraying an item before stepping out, only to encounter an unexpected muddy puddle or, heaven forbid, an "oops" pizza drop. The best part? It has never changed the color of anything I've sprayed it on, which is a huge relief when you're protecting beloved items. Now, a crucial heads-up for anyone planning to use this: there's a strong odor during application (turns into nose blindness). For your safety and comfort, please, please make sure you're using it outdoors or in a very well-ventilated area. Trust me on this one; your nose/brain will thank you.
