I thought the spray did a really good job sealing the couch. I did the water test and the water beaded off just as I expected it too. I used this immediately after receiving my couch so I didn’t have an issue with any dirt sticking or getting sealed. The only downside to the spray is the odor, I wish it wasn’t as chemically. BUT....spray it outside using a clothesline or something and cover your nose and mouth. This stuff stinks to high heaven but the scent does leave your fabric so don't worry. It does repel water! Just stinks during applicaiton.

The product description says it will cover one "average" sized couch - they fail to mention that that would have to be an average sized couch in a child's play house (and a small one at that). I finished off an entire can spraying two 22" pillows with just one normal coating. I also have issues with the odor - it is absolutely not odorless. If they think it is, they are suffering from anosmia. I thought this might have less of a strong odor than the spray for outside gear, but it still is quite strong and I worry about our cats and dogs being on the furniture, especially the cats as they are far more likely to have bad reactions to scented products than dogs. But, the fact is that it does do most of what it says it does and we've not been successful at finding an odor free product that works, so I can't really fault it other than the exaggerated claims for how much it will cover and the delusional claim that it is odor free. ... show more
