Osprey’s Hydraulics® LT 1.5L Lumbar Reservoir by Hydrapak is made for those who prefer an off-the-shoulder hydration solution. Designed to fit in most lumbar packs, but perfectly pairs as an extra or replacement reservoir for Osprey's Seral lumbar mountain biking pack. Twin-welded chevron baffles stabilize the water and maintain a flat profile. Thoughtful design makes filling, cleaning, and—most importantly—staying hydrated on the trail easier than ever. All parts are BPA-free, phthalate-free, lead-free, guaranteed. All materials are certified food safe according to FDA and EU regulations.

This low and wide unit sits comfortably at the bottom of your bag. It won’t fall over and loose its function or take up valuable space where you want to carry more accessible items. I put it in the bottom of my motorcycle tank bag . The soft bladder forms into the shape of the tank bag, so there is no wasted space at all. The effect would be the same inside a backpack or messenger bag. The other benefit is the weight of your beverage will be lower on your back. I used a short strip of Velcro to attach the magnetic holder to my bag. The base of the holder has open loops to attach to any kind of strap up to about 3/4” wide. The bite valve feature works great. The material is soft and comfortable to bite on to start the flow. I suggest the angled tip if you are going to use it while wearing a full face helmet. Not especially difficult to wash out thanks to the wide fold and clip top but certainly not the easiest either due to the design of the interior. You will definitely need to get into the corners/seams to scrub if you’re using flavors or sugary beverages. Overall a pretty good value and a solution to a specific need ,so highly recommended. Best if you want a convenient reservoir to use with your own carrier. An excellent choice for motorcycle use. Another reviewer mentioned it doesn’t stay open to dry out inside. I have found that carefully positioning the drinking tube inside the bladder keeps the sides apart pretty well and allows it to dry out. Another trick I have heard of, but not tried myself, is to put clean golf practice balls (the ones with lots of little holes) inside to allow air to circulate. ... show more

Like I said on platypus review these are nice, but there really isn't a bag designed to use them. Rather marketing seems to have said, "hey, fanny packs are selling again, for some reason, lets make a bladder for them". And sure. First problem, the magnitic holder is made for a backpack chest strap, so about 1/2 inch. I cannot find anything like that on my mountainsmith pack or my chrome messenger. Maybe a really cheap fanny pack? But even then could one fit a 70 oz bladder in one of those? So you end up carrying the drinking part in your pocket or waistband, which isn't ideal. Second problem, no packs are really built for these. So they go in the main pocket with your stuff. Like your extra socks. or electronics. So better not put ice in there or your liable to get condensation and damp everything. Is there anything good about them? Sure. guess you have an extra option for carrying water. but after having used one once, I just carry a regular water bottle.. ... show more

It's easy enough to fill/empty/clean, and it's SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT. If anything, that's the reason it only gets 4 out of 5 stars. Great product does what it says. Slight plastic taste to the water or maybe scent, not sure. Also, it’s be great if the tube were just a bit longer and had auto seal disconnection at the base, but it’s still a good product. there aren’t many horizontal/lumbar water packs.
