I had an original Camelback that took this design bladder (1.5L). We tried an inexpensive third party bladder (2L and a different shape), but while it worked, it was just too big and the wrong shape. This was the least expensive option for an "OEM" replacement, the other was 50% more. I'm sure it is worth it if you need a more rugged bladder, but we don't. Anyway, it works as well as the original, like we expected. I'd like to see it about 20-25% cheaper than the $30 we paid for it. Recommended as a "fair" value. ... show more

I bought my first CamelBak in early 90s when it was looked down on as “gimmick”. I’ve upgraded through the years and have tried other brands along the way.     • Can’t get plastic taste out
I don’t know what the issue is with this, I have washed it so many times, run gallons of water through it. Have taken it in several hikes trying to power through with the taste, but it won’t go away! We bought this as a replacement for the camelback bag that came with my kids small camelback branded hydration backpack. That bag leaked because of their being nothing to hold the hose on. This bag is better constructed, similar to me 3L camelback and doesn’t leak, however my kid hates drinking from it. None of our other hydration bags have this foul taste. Very disappointed. I’m going to have to buy something else because he got dehydrated on our last hike from refusing to drink/pretending to drink. ... show more
