After reviewing multiple types of kits of like this. I ended up buying this one because of the specs on the vacuum pump. It's a 37.5 micron, 5 pa pump. Others I have looked at were 70 micron even as high as 150 micron and 10pa. After checking everything included, they all look decent quality. The gauges look good and do not bounce around. The manifold looks solid. The knobs are plastic, everything else looks good.After setting up the manifold I was able to pull a vacuum in my vehicle's AC system. I also used the manifold to recharge/refill R134a refrigerant.

Works great… it would seem as if the pump prefers to be plugged in near the socket as close as possible, rather than on my 50 foot extension cord, the extension cord works just fine however, the pump would not turn on when plugged into the extension cord and it doesn’t adequate extension cord. However, once plugged into the wall, it did just fine. In fact I was quite impressed for it only being a single stage pump.

The self-sealing can tap in my kit was faulty. Not only would it not allow coolant to flow from the can into my van’s A/C system, it would break the self-sealing mechanism in the can, and the gas would spray out of the can after removing the tap. I thought that I might have a faulty can, but I tried using it on three cans, and got the same result every time. I contacted their “customer service” department, and described the problem in very clear detail. They wrote back requesting pictures and screenshots and purchase details, all of which I provided, and they said they would send a new self-sealing can tap. ….but they sent me a puncture style can tap instead. I wrote them back to tell them that they had sent the wrong tap, I included pictures of the incorrect item that was sent, and asked them to please send the correct item. They responded by telling me that they had sent a puncture tap, AND a self-sealing can tap, and told me to double check the parcel. Basically, their response to their own error was to accuse me of being an idiot. I wrote them back again to tell them that the parcel was just a small bubble wrap envelope, and the only thing inside it was the wrong tap, and I once again asked them to please send the correct one. They wrote back waffling about some possible error in their warehouse, and told me to send pictures of the item I had received (which I had already done), so they could determine what error had occurred, and what type of solution they could offer…..THE SOLUTION IS REPLACING THE FAULTY PART LIKE I ASKED YOU TO DO FIVE EMAILS AGO!!! Prior to receiving their last email, I decided that their customer service department was useless, so I just went out to buy another self-sealing can tap at Harbor Freight. That tap worked just fine, proving that the fault did in fact lie with the tap that had been included with the kit. I initially thought that the price on this kit was a good deal, but after it caused me to waste $30 on coolant (not to mention making me release toxic chemicals into the environment), and another $8 on a new tap which their customer service department failed to replace, it turned out not to be such a good deal after all. WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN!

Unfortunately, past return window! I could pull a vacuum and pressurize the system, but for a decay test, the slow leaks on hose connectors will make your system look like you have a leak! I did pull the vacuum with those, then eliminated the hoses with a shut-off valve. It passed the test. I could pull under 200 microns with the pump easily. But when pressurized with nitrogen and leaving the gauges on, a slow leak made it look like there was a leak in the system/copper lines. Pump seems to be good, just not worth the money as set because you need to buy an extra set of hoses. Update to 3 stars: I replaced all the seals and it works great!

This kit comes with everything needed to install a mini split and is what I needed to install mine. I would recommend this kit if you need to install one yourself, good quality and easy to use.
