After returning a cheap rope hammock from an Amazon Deal Days offer, I decided I wanted a rope hammock of GOOD quality, and made in the USA. Pawley’s Island offered many styles, and colors, and rope (their DURACORD) that resists mold and mildew - which had been a problem on my old hammock. I replaced the heavy ropes around the support trees from my old hammock (here when I purchased my home 4 years ago) with the heavy hooks that came with the Pawley’s (2nd photo with feet shows old rope). It’s a much cleaner looking setup now. Best of all, I have actually napped for up to 90 minutes in my new hammock, it’s that comfortable! (And I’m 70 years old!) I’m following the guidance to bring it inside during inclement weather. So happy with this hammock, I had to write a review.

Can’t beat quality of Pawleys Island. Second hammock we’ve bought. The woven rope is great for our long legs. Able to insert ankles in holes for greater comfort. As opposed to solid fabric type design. Blue one in photos is a double, white one is a single.

This hammock is almost as wide as it is long, which makes it very awkward to get into. The third hammock I’ve ordered that claimed to be a single person hammock but is way too wide to get in and out of easily. Kind of defeats the purpose of a hammock to have to struggle with it. Also very uncomfortable, as rope hammocks usually are. I can’t use it without a blanket and something under my head for a little cushioning. The only thing it has going for it is quality construction, which is extremely rare these days. Tired of boxing up crappy hammocks to return them so may just grit my teeth and keep this one but so disappointed with it and cannot recommend it.
