These guards fit the mini 3 pro pretty well and look like they would help protect a new drone pilot. I have not been able to fly with the covers on but from appearances, they don't look like they would be a hindrance. The guards are quite large so they are a little cumbersome to travel with them.

Easy install but seriously overkill and should be lighter. It definitely slows down and causes stability issues when going faster. Good to initially learn or flying in hazardous areas but if you think it’s going to be just as nimble and quick after installing you’re fooling yourself.

So let's just jump into it... 1. If you have never flown a drone, you need this. On day two I bumped into a building (while flying backward) and had I not had these "training wheels" on I could have damaged a set of propellers as well as the drone. So if you plan to fly in tight spaces or shoot footage near buildings, this or something similar could be useful. A "must have" if teaching young students. 2. It will affect your flight time, maneuverability and speed, like other reviewers have stated. The RC remote will even indicate that these guards are detected and that it will affect how you fly your drone. It will limit the distance... according to what I found on google it will limit the dji mini 3 to 50 meters and I ran into this issue. 3. In a wide open space with little obstacles (trees & buildings) I don't think you would need these as much. 4. It might protect against dogs trying to eat your drone... depending on the size of the dog. The dog in question didn't get a chance to get the drone but apparently drones make animals feel threatened. 5. Installation was relatively easy. For a mini 3 pro it's super overkilling guard. They could've made it lighter and that would be great.

    • Good, but...
PROS: 1. Easy to attach, hold solidly 2. Props are free and there is no striking of the case 3. Rugged. CONS: 1. Double the rates of battery consumption - think 10-15 max on a battery 2. Stability - you'll know in the first few seconds of flight. If its wobbly, land, try again. If stable, go very slowly. 3. Keep constant eye contact with the drone, don't assume you can fly it into and out of a room without direct observation. This may take some thinking out the shot. 4. Can become unstable quickly. Don't try to fly fast... no more than walking speed. 5. The upper weight of the cage is completely redundant and should be eliminated. You only need a couple of pegs to prevent striking a ceiling. 95% of strike will be on walls (vertical structures) and floors. 6. While recommended for "beginners" this make the craft so much more dynamically unstable, I'd train WITHOUT THEM in an open field before attempting to use these. RECOMMENDATIONS: Good in concept but too heavy. Go with protectors of only the sides and bottom. This is a GOOD BUILD, but the drone itself < 8 ounces, adding this much weight ... ... show more
