Also, ignore the "very low" warnings from the printer once you've printed around the "rated" number of copies. I've found that these have hundreds more pages left, even after the "very low" warnings start. If this was a high-volume paycheck printer, I'd replace the toner when "warned" - but for a small desktop printer, get a spare cartridge, and only swap it out when you start getting missing streaks on the pages. ... show more

We've always used the factory original toner cartridges for our HP color laser jet. They do a great job but are pricy.

What is there to say about laser toner? Only that it is OEM, top quality, and never fails. I buy it and stay away from the knock-off toners.

I bought this because it was advertised as a genuine HP-- I have bought refurbished and off brands once or twice in the past and always had issues so I pay more for the real thing. My instinct is that name brand copiers and printers intentionally design their products so they can't be used effectively and/or efficiently with products they didn't make or sell themselves but I digress. Anyway, I installed these today and when the test popped up on my laptop to check the authenticity of the two new cartridges, I got the message they were both counterfeit. That was the exact terminology HP used in the test. The product came in an HP box and was sealed and in that incredibly fat bubble container they come in, but why would the HP test that is designed just to detect counterfeit toners lie to me? I am using it and have printed one or two pages and so far no issues, but I'll update if I notice a difference later or if it stops working. My color toners usually last a year, so I'll see if this goes out faster. I've ordered from here I think three times in the past and never had a problem before, so maybe it's a glitch, but I can't be sure. Just like food, if you don't make it or grow it yourself you never really know what's in it. ... show more

I am trying to reduce my blood pressure without using medication and a defective aftermarket cartridge would not contribute to that goad so I just buy OEM cartridges. They cost twice (or more) as much but last a long time and work well. I am waiting for somebody to buy me the blood pressure tester that is on my Amazon wish list to evaluate the effect on that. ... show more
