It didn't fix my sticking ignition; apparently the sticking piece is deeper in the steering column. That said, the original cylinder was 21 years old, so it made sense to replace it since I already had the part. Easy to install, works just as described for a 2000 Silverado.

Works great. Used for a replacement on my 2002 Chevy s10. The old lock wouldn't turn without the right amount of wiggling the key. No issues with this. I do recommend keeping your old key for your vehicle to unlock the doors. I almost made the mistake of throwing out my old key until I realized I had locked my doors and (obviously) because I changed the ignition lock, the new keys would not work in the doors. ... show more

    • fit like OEM
on the 2000 chevy express, the various plastic surround pieces that must be removed to access the lock cylinder took an excessive amount of time to replace and reinstall! The cylinder itself took only about 10 minutes. The ignition works like new now.
