  • Keeps ice for 4+ days
Size: 40 QT Color: Seafoam
Bought this for a road trip. Had 85-100 degree weather. Kept it in a bear box at campground. Put two 7 pound bags of ice in it and my food. Kept well for 4 days. Added more ice, but probably could have gotten another day out of the original bags. Drain plug. BTW, if driving in the mountains and cooler stuck shut due to pressure, loosen drain plug, evens the pressure. Love the color. Cheaper than a Yeti but works just as well (my friend had the Yeti). It’s big! But the walls need to be thick to insulate. ... show more

  • It works!
Loaded the cooler up for a trip from western PA to Texas. 3 days and the ice was Rick solid in 100 degree temps.

  • carry a crow bar
Size: With Basket Color: Charcoal
this is the best cooler for keeping block ice for days (3 minimum ) the gasket is airtight. meaning a vacuum is created if you change elevation. keep some sort of pry bar to open when you get to your campsite

  • Does what it says it will

  • Pretty good cooler
Size: 40-Quart Color: Green
It can hold 3x ten pound bags of ice if I open up the third bag and spread it around. Plus a few drinks on top. The 30 pounds of ice lasts for about 5 days before it's completely melted. If I park my car out in the sun when it's 120 degrees out, only the drinks that are fully submerged in the ice stay cool. The ones on the surface are room temperature. The cooler is completely airtight, so if you go down to a lower elevation the pressure differential makes it impossible to open until you unscrew the drainage thing to let some air in. I think this pressure problem is why some people reported cracks in the lid. Draining it after the 30 pounds of ice melt is a rather slow and inconvenient process, but only happens once every 5 days. The melt rate is equivalent to 10 watts, and the average temperature differential is around 40 kelvin, and the surface area is around 2 square meters, so the insulation's R-value is estimated to be 8K*m^2/W, which is very impressive compared to the table of typical R-values on wikipedia. I guess my dissatisfaction is with the laws of thermodynamics rather than the manufacturer. Until someone invents a betavoltaic refrigerator. ... show more

  • Buy it but not from here
Size: 40-Quart Color: Green
This cooler is worth it. Obviously if you’re looking at this product you’re willing to buy premium and trying to get the best bang for your buck. YES it will keep your items cool but you have to follow the process. No cooler will magically keep your items sub zero, but this is a cheaper high quality option compared to its competitors. If you’re indecisive like me you’ll try to find everything wrong with it but there’s nothing wrong with it; honestly, it’s not a well name brand like others but it’s made in Tennessee/ Ohio and it keeps your items the coldest. My advice is to buy it from their website so you get the full warranty and they usually have a 30% discount so it’s cheaper than amazon. You can have pride to say you bought an American made product that works well and built to last. It is a tad heavy and the 40 qt is a great size for an ideal camping cooler, it’s not something you’ll carry around it’s more of an point A to B size and you’ll need an extra hand transporting it when it’s filled with ice and product. ... show more

  • Great cooler for weekend warrior
Size: 40-Quart Color: Green
This has been a great choice for me for weekend camping trips. It's the right size for 1 or 2 people if you know how to pack well. Instead of using ice, I use 2 or 3 large frozen gel packs that came with some food shipments. The gel packs are reusable and they don't get everything wet. Best of all, they last for a 3 day weekend while only melting about 50% due to the cooler itself and the food and beverages stay very cold. The carry handles are nice because even when full the handles let you carry the cooler lower against your body which makes it much easier for 1 person. I also like the feel of the rubber latches and don't have to worry about pinching my hand in them as I did regularly with my other "standard" cooler I replaced. ... show more

  • Great cooler, smaller capacity than expected
We chose this over Yeti and RTIC because of shipping times. This is 40, the others would have been 45. The cooler is super sturdy and kept things cold, even frozen for a long time. We precooled with a bag of ice overnight, and that worked well. We did find that by the time we added ice, there wasn’t as much room for the refrigerated/frozen things we were bringing for our week’s vacation. It fills up really fast. If you’re on the fence about 40 or 60, maybe go bigger. It takes 2 to carry this one anyway. ... show more
