After about 7 YEARS my trusty Oral-B Black 7000 finally died. I got this one overnight-ed and I'm very happy with the choice. The price was reasonable (especially compared to some of the other Oral-B offers that are double or triple this one). Right away I noticed how this handle feels lighter than my old one, but surprisingly has more power to the brush. I used to keep my old one at the top speed, but this one I had to knock it down a speed or two (I do like the top speed too, but it feels a bit extra; maybe I just have to get used to it). The other thing that's neat, is the app itself. Same app as I had before, but now it has some sensors and shows me literally what teeth I'm brushing! Not just a timer. But like back, front, tops, bottoms, middle, etc.. AND it even shows you a color from blue to white as you really clean that area so you can move around your mouth and ensure you're getting good coverage. Pretty impressive the brush/app can figure that out from the angle and directions (role/pitch/yaw). The battery life is also great. My old one started to die after a day or two. This one I can charge once and leave it in the shower for a week or more no problem. I don't have to take the charger on vacations with me either as I'm confident this has enough juice to last the whole trip. I like how the modes are displayed in little light up icons ON the brush too (last one didn't have that, so I was always having to cycle and guess, or use the app to set the mode). The light at the top is always on and can be a bit annoying, but also something I think I just need to get used to. All in all, a solid choice. ... show more

I had an older model that the battery was just failing and too hard to replace. Bought this new one about 3 months before my next dental visit. Dentist said teeth and gums are doing great. I wish they had not changed charging systems as we have been long time users so we had spare chargers for vacation, for in the RV, and for at home. Now I need to remember to pack charger for our longer trips. A single charge lasts about a week brushing for 2-3 minutes twice a day. I brush about 1 minute longer than the programmed timer in the tooth brush. Overall very satisfied with their products and would buy it again. ... show more

After spending hours comparing reviews of the Oral B vs Sonicare it appears that the rotary action of the Oral b is superior to the up/down motion of the Sonicare. The Oral b Smart 5000 is a very well made electric toothbrush . I had first bought the Oral b pro 1000 but immediately sent it back because the button was difficult to locate while brushing and the surface of the handle was too slick to hold when wet. The 5000 has a raised button and a rubber like coating which alleviate these issues. The only problem is the Bluetooth App which has few instructions and is generally worthless. After spending a considerable time researching this app, I would recommend not wasting your time. Once you master the App you will find that it serves no practical purpose. I've been researching OralB toothbrushes for a LONG TIME. There are way too many options to choose from. I'm a loyal Sonicare user for many yrs, but wanted to try the round brush to compare results. I decided on this brush for the simplicity. I don't particularly need the Bluetooth feature & haven't tried it yet so I can't speak on it. The Amazon packaging was just fine but the actual product box was a mess! It appears to have gotten wet at some point. I can't believe a company would send a product out in that condition. Fortunately, the product itself wasn't damaged at all so I didn't return it. I like the multiple speeds, the timer, & the pressure feature. I also like that the brush is firm, yet soft. I was very pleased with the cleaning I got after one use. Being able to focus on each tooth with the rounded head like dentists use is satisfying. I still love my Sonicare but now I have another good option I think will bring good results with use. My only gripe is the thing is LOUD! It sounds like a jet is taking off in my mouth! Before I wrote anything I wanted to be sure I got to use it until I had to charge it again after purchased. It lasted about 2 weeks before I had to recharge, which is great! The first mode is a bit strong, so it it might take a second to get used to it. For me by the 2nd day I was fine with it. I read some feed back from last year about it coming with multiple brush heads, but it doesn’t. It would be nice if it did since it comes different modes, and they really only do its function to the fullest with the correct brush heads. I haven’t had the need to use the app feature yet, but the brush is really good and does with it needs to do. I would suggest this one for sure. ... show more
