I love this product, I have used it consistently for years. The Grape and Juicy Strawberry are my two go-to flavors. 50mg of caffeine per scoop and I can easily tailor my dosage around the days’ workout. Blends well with the recommended amount of water but also will add it to 24 ounces and sip it through the workout and it carries me well with a nice consistent energy level. No crash afterwards. I use it mostly for weight lifting. My sole reason for the three star rating is that we have received several containers where the internal white seal had been removed and the external seal lacked the ON logo. This usually doesn't happen if you get it direct from Optimum Nutrition store. It has happened twice with an amazon fulfillment store. A few times with others. So either someone sold used returned products, or someone opened and possibly tampered with it. (These seals are here for a reason!!) So buyer beware. Even though we have gotten several that have been previously opened I continue to try to purchase this product from ON because I like it so much. I’ve been getting back into my fitness journey post covid - have just been doing some kickboxing and weight lifting classes at the gym for the last few months. Now I’m starting to train for a spartan race so I wanted to kick up my workouts and started doubling up my classes a few days a week and working with a trainer on the weekends. I found myself getting pretty burnt out around the middle of the second class especially after a long day of work. I saw all of the great reviews for this pre-workout so I started taking this about 10 minutes before my first class of the day and it’s been a huge game changer! I have plenty of energy throughout my entire workout (ends up being about 2 1/2 hours) and I feel stronger longer without that super jittery feeling. “Yellow 5 and 6”? “Red 40”? This is a supplement for folks who are interested in their health and fitness. We already understand and reluctantly accept the risks of artificial sweeteners and flavors in order to obtain more palatable products. Fair enough. But there’s really no need to stack dyes in for the sole purpose of aesthetics. You’re adding in further health risks, where most people likely don’t care whether or not their orange-flavored energy drink actually looks orange! ON makes some really good products. I’ve been using them on and off for years and have always been satisfied. Not trying to bash them here. This dye thing isn’t a deal-breaker for me, but I would at least ask that they consider dropping superfluous ingredients in the future. ... show more

The blueberry lemonade flavor is tremendous for a pre-workout, not overly sweet. Serving size is 2 scoops, to stretch the lifespan out I’ve been using 1 scoop - effectively turning a 30 day supply to 60 day. Substantial energy boost for ‘half’ serving usage, I plan to re-purchase in the future.

I have been using Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy for a few months now and I love it. It is a great pre-workout and energy booster that helps me get through my workouts and my day. It has a delicious fruit fusion flavor that mixes well with water and tastes refreshing. I like that it has green tea and green coffee extracts that provide natural caffeine and antioxidants. It also has BCAA and amino acids that support muscle recovery and endurance. It is keto friendly and has zero sugar, which means I can still take when I am intermittent fasting if I need a pick me up in the morning. I usually take two scoops before my workout and I feel energized and focused. It does not make me jittery or crash like some other pre-workouts.
