Love the Black shade of OPI Infinite Shine. In 2 coats it gives you a gorgeous shiny manicure and it goes on very smooth, not thick at all like some darker pigment colors do. Looks great without a top coat too but even better with a good one.

The OPI Onyx nail polish is definitely black like an oil slick. Let it completely dry. I put on one light layer, then two more generous layers of polish. It's kind of thick in texture. Anyway, I like it.

This isn't my first OPI purchase so I knew there might be trouble. First off, the photo does not do the color justice at all. It's far more beautiful in person. This is one of those colors that is tough to wear when you drive because your nails are so distracting. 5 stars for the color. Since I have other OPI colors, I'd hoped the difficulty with the application was due to the others being a creme, but no. My Private Jet doesn't go on smooth or even on the first application. Also, the second coat was a little rough. I was really surprised at how less than fully opaque this color was once applied. The third coat applied better than the first two and gave me the look I wanted. One downside? The polish chipped after the first day. I'd put on a topcoat, of course, and didn't do much housework. Still, with this dark polish, a chip almost glows in the dark. My suggestion? This color and polish would be great on toenails. Toenail polish rarely chips, needs to be a little thicker than usual, and why not treat your feet? Bottom line: Gorgeous color, needs three coats, and not as long-wearing as you'd want. ... show more
