This is a terrific food. High quality proteins, low carbohydrates, high in essential taurine. My picky eater, who will only eat dry food, loves this food, and goes right to his fountain to drink after eating it, giving him the hydration he needs. He is doing very well on it, never vomits or complains. I feed him a set amount per day, divided into three meals. His weight is stable and his coat perfect. I don't know where the "toxic" reviews come from, as this food has never had a recall in either the US or Canada, and there are many ways to mishandle a cat that would lead to vomiting, diarrhea and hospitalization. Open Farm guarantees all their food and will either take returns or give you a refund for donating the food to a shelter. Yes, the food doesn't smell like flowers but that is because it does not contain artificial flavors or colors to satisfy humans. Highly recommended. ... show more

Coho, my cat LOVES her Open Farm kibble. I love all the ingredients in it, and knowing it's ethically sourced also gives me great peace of mind knowing my girl is getting quality food. My cat, Lily, eats a lot though she is not fat, just big and active. I wanted to introduce a dry food to save us from having to continually fill up her dish throughout the day. I bought this for the high quality ingredients hoping she would like it as she has only had wet food for her 4 years of life. Holy smokes! You would think this was "cat candy". We have to keep it from her until the wet food is gone or she will only eat this food. I don't think it is good to only give our animals "kibble" or any diet of one thing only. Plus it sucks all the moisture out of her body as she is now drinking a lot more (cats get a lot of the moisture they need from their food usually). Anyway. This was a huge hit with her and as long as we make sure to rotate the choices it's working out as planned. I will continue to buy this for her. Otherwise she may try to kill us when we sleep. :-P ... show more

My cat isn't fond of dry food but he will eat this one. I've tried numerous cheaper and pricier foods but this is one he will eat...eventually. It smells bad to me but is ok to him. No idea how it tastes because I'm not a cat thus no way am I tasting this. Good ingredients.

I did a ton of research, and this food got an A- on unbiased cat reviews for quality ingredients, origin or ingredients, species appropriate ingredients. Love this stuff! My cats love it, they adjusted to it eaisly and they've been on it now for over a year. Their coats are shiny, moist, and my one with dandruff has less flakes! (they eat this along with 1/2 of a different brand of wet food) I add a little water to mine, for the mositure and beause one of my kitties has teeth issues, but they seem to love that and drink the water like a broth! My only complaint would be that the 4oz back is full of air. It's a little pricey, but also that smaller optional is affordable for me and I will pay for the quality. Just maybe ya'll can adjust your packaging to be less wasteful? Thank you for making such wonderful food accessible! ... show more

I have tried every cat food on the market and some not even on the market. This is the only one that smells like fish when you open the bag. And the cats noticed the difference when we run out. Most cat food says some kind of fish, byproduct, and then grain, grain, … what wildcat have you ever known to sit around eating grain? Or corn? These are all fillers. The cats diet should be heavy on the protein and this product delivers!!! I live in Alaska and I know fish really well. When I open other types of cat food that says fish is one of their ingredients, it’s clear to me that there is very little fish in that bag of food. We have 5 cats and one of them ate a few bites and walked away. The others were totally not interested. Usually they love a fresh bag of food. I bought this because it was advertised as pasture-raised lamb, something I felt didn't have any GMO grains in it. I opened the bag and it smelled like the bay at low tide - very fishy. Fresh meat, no grains, and transparency, this I appreciate. But when the second and third ingredients are fish, THIS needs to be made more apparent. I admit, I didn't read the fine print - the ingredient list, but heck, I foolishly trusted that this was a quality food made of mostly lamb as the protein source, not a food with SOME lamb and a lot of fish fillers. Luckily the barn cats eat anything, but I won't buy this brand again. I feed three outdoor cats with this food and they inhale it! It’s pricey though and I wish more came in the bag for the price. As dry food goes, it seems to be comprised of good ingredients. I like that they can be sourced too.
