I bought this phone in August and have been using it daily for 4 months now. In short, the Nord N30 5G meets all of my needs, and I'm very impressed with the quality. I chose this phone after reading reviews on a tech blog website, comparing phones from OnePlus and various other brands. My two biggest criteria were: 1. Low cost, and 2. Long battery life. I don't care much about high camera quality or screen quality, or running high-spec games. I really just needed a phone that could handle running important apps like GPS/navigation, phone calling, and internet browsing for a long time during a long workday -- without overheating or draining the whole battery quickly. I just had way less stress all around with this new phone when using it for work or leisure. Positives: Everything positive I read online was indeed true. The CPU chip seems good -- The apps I use the most load quickly, and don't cause each other to crash when running at the same time. This is especially important when you must use bloated or optimized apps. The overall battery life is huge, and the battery recharges VERY quickly with the high-speed red cable. There's a lot of internal storage by default, so I won't have to worry about external memory for a while. The screen seems bright enough and high-resolution enough for me. When I use the camera, the pictures usually come out clear despite unsteady hands. Sound quality is great. User controls make sense, though I had to get used to a few new swipe motions. It's working just fine on my local Verizon network. Physical buttons for power and volume, wired headphones port. Concerns: This phone is heavier than any of my previous phones, so that takes some getting used to. There are various system options for changing how notifications and notification sounds work for the whole system or for individual apps, but the sub-menus all look similar and I have difficulty understanding which settings are taking priority. Finally, the physical volume and power buttons are positioned perfectly across from each other so you can click them to take a photo or screenshot -- however, this means it's very easy to accidentally do that when just trying to pick the phone up or pull it out of your pocket. I have this phone for a few months now and for the price, this is a great phone. I was looking for something that wasn't one of the mainstream brands like Samsung, Apple, etc. I like the features (decent storage, can use external storage, large screen, comes unlocked, good battery life with quick charging, various widgets, so many settings, and more) and the lack of "bloatware" that comes with the phone. There are 2 things that I don't like about the phone compared to my last one (Google Pixel 3). 1, that I was aware of from other reviews, is the camera is not the best. Sometime you need some really good light for the picture to come out decent, otherwise pictures can be rather dark. I find myself editing them often to brighten them up. That and it lacks the crispness that you can get with phones like the Google Pixel and others. Besides that, it has some cool camera options, like professional mode (which if I learned how to use that I'm sure my images would come out a bit brighter), macro, others, and some of the editing tools are pretty cool. And 2, something that bugs me enough to note it here, is the responsiveness of the screen. I don't think it is an app issue as it has happened with multiple apps, but sometimes while swiping in a direction, it doesn't always respond the way I want it to. For example, I use Spotify very frequently, and it's where I get annoyed at this issue the most. In Spotify, when you are viewing a song you can swipe from right to left to change a song, or swipe down to get out of the song view, taking you back to a menu screen. So many times, it does not register my swipe to the left, instead it registers it as a downswipe, exiting the screen I was on. And like I said, this happens with other apps too, where I'm trying to swipe across, but instead it registers as a downswipe exiting the screen I was on. Other than the 2 issues I have with this phone, it's honestly great for the price. I'm disappointed with the camera sometimes, but that is coming from my previous phone's camera being so crisp and bright, and I also knew about it based on the other reviews I read. It's a decent phone in the mid-tier. Nice looking screen, and features work well. You can do worse with other brands. My biggest positive is the phone works, and has been working over a half-year. What I mean more precisely is all the features work seamlessly like pulling up web sites, watching videos, making calls, turning it on and off, etc. Other phones I've had failed. Batteries go dead soon fast after purchase, software glitches, turning off for no reason etc. The Nord just hasn't. Makes it a daily driver being rugged subject to use. It's ecosystem is different flavor with Oxygen I believe which is sort of novel. Fast charger actually came with the product compared to getting nothing at all with a brand like Motorola. ... show more
