  • (TWS) Flagship Killers
Color: Zen Green
OnePlus was once the brand that labeled its phones as "Flagship Killers". To compete with said flagships in nearly every metric, all while undercutting the cost by margins that seemed impossible. They may have ultimately wound up joining that higher end of the market altogether, I feel as though they've managed to at least keep the spirit of the concept alive in other aspects. And that is exactly what the OnePlus Buds 4 have managed to achieve in the modern wireless audio landscape. They're not the cheapest pair in the world sure, but for the $100-120 price bracket they punch above their weight as hard as their bass can. No, seriously. When tuned towards a more "warm" profile, they will crank out some serious thump. But it's not even overbearing if you tweak the mids down slightly while boosting the highs a bit. At least that's my preference, though they still have an excellent sound profile across the board either way with the default profiles. LHDC support is also a huge bonus, especially if you are someone like me that enjoys using Tidal to listen to high fidelity tracks. It really brings the most out of these earbuds, however it's essentially an exclusive function to OnePlus devices only (they still sound stellar using AAC codec as well). I also enjoy the continued support/optimization efforts to provide iOS devices with nearly all of the same features that they have on android. It not only makes them superior to Samsung offerings, as they have long since stopped supporting models beyond their Galaxy Buds+ on iOS. Anyway, the OnePlus Buds 4 are a solid pick for the only main compromises being case build quality (crap plastic, but hinge is somewhat sturdy) and the lack of wireless charging (albeit they do charge absurdly fast, as any OnePlus device would). Battery life is a respectable 10-12 hrs, give or take depending on use. I rarely use ANC (they have a good enough seal for me in most cases), though I will use transparency here and there throughout any given time. Differences in volume level should also be considered, since the advertised rating by OnePlus is based on a consistent 50% level. They fit really well, and are comfortable enough for me to actually wear for the duration that they'll last a single charge on. Which is a big deal for me, as I always like to get at least a minimum of 8 hours or so out of a pair of wireless earbuds in-between charges. The case will recharge them about 2-3 times, depending on how much they were used any given time. As for the ANC and transparency, they're a far cry from the days of the Buds Z 2 (which weren't the worst, to say the least). ANC can really create a sort of "seal of silence" when not in a super noisy environment. Since they still aren't quite able to prevent some of louder noises, even with a good seal. But overall it's good enough to be satisfied with at this price point. The transparency is at a similar level; it's substantially better than prior generations. It's not quite "AirPod Pro 2" level, but it's much better than a lot of what the competition has to offer (such as JBL or Soundcore). All in all they're a great pair of earbuds that have seamless integration on android thanks to using Fast Pair, and even have multi-point connection to boot. Aside from the lack of wireless charging, they still genuinely felt like an upgrade over my previous pair of OnePlus Buds Pro 2 -- even with the latter being a "Pro" variant while these are positioned as the current non-Pro model. ... show more

  • better than expected
Color: Storm Gray
Had the apple ear buds but they kept falling out of my ears, these with the right rubber tips hold secure even working around the yard , excellent battery life, sound is good too, very rich, the app is well thought out and has several helpful features, you can tune them using an equalizer to your preference. Just tried them on an airplane and the noise cancellation setting for the engine noise works really well, I usually would bring the big bulky Bose headsets with me which do work a bit better because they cover your entire ear. but take up a ton of room in your carry on, I will be leaving them at home from now on and use these instead, for the price these are well worth the money ... show more

  • Fantastic Sound and Comfort for the Price!
Color: Storm Gray
I’ve been using the OnePlus Buds 4 in Storm Gray for a few weeks now, and they’ve really impressed me. The Bluetooth 5.4 connection is solid with no dropouts, and the adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) works surprisingly well for blocking out background noise — it’s close to what you’d expect from pricier earbuds. The sound quality is great, with a nice balance of deep bass and clear highs. Unfortunately, cannot use the LHDC codec with my Samsung phone. They feel super light and comfortable even during long wear, thanks to the ergonomic design and different ear tip sizes. Battery life is solid too: I get about 9 hours with ANC on, and the charging case extends it to roughly 45 hours total, which is fantastic. Plus, the IP55 rating means I don’t have to worry about sweat or a bit of rain during my runs. The touch controls are responsive and easy to customize, although some features like AI translation only work with OnePlus devices. Overall, the OnePlus Buds 4 offer top-tier features and sound quality at a mid-range price point. Perfect for everyday use, workouts, and travel. Just wish Samsung would use LHDC codec so I can get the most out of these buds. ... show more

  • Superior audio and price at the cost of premium features
Color: Zen Green
A very solid choice. Chose this pair based on the good reviews that it had received and i must say. They are true. LDHC is amazing. By no means im not an expert but ive used enough tech to hold myself responsible for the following statements: Audio: 5 out 5. You cannot do better for that price range. Furthermore it blows my jbl buds that costed twice the price out of the water. It holds ground with bose nc 700 and honestly in a few tests that i run it had better imaging Battery: 3.5 out of 5. It holds about 4 to 5 hours at 70-80% volume without anc Volume and anc: 4.7 out of 5. They are quite loud. I work in noisy enviroment and they do good enough with anc turned off. ANC is good. Not as good as bose but close. Transparency mode: 3 out of 5. Its there its mediocre. Button interaction: 4 out of 5. It does all the neccesary stuff. Volume, calls, play , pause, next, previous. ANC on off. You can even tweak it a bit to add other stuff Both buds work indepedently. Which helps you in case you use one at the time. Comfort: 4 out 5 sometimes i feel they are not there sometimes. They dont fall. I was surprised actually even though the platic feels cheap and not premium but who cares... Case: 3 out of 5 . One of the weakest points imo. It feels very fragile in my hands. If jbl did something right. It was the case undestroyable and quite sleek to the touch. A feeling which i miss here. App: 2 out of 5. Dont like melody app. Feels weird unpolished and cheap. Like these headphones. So i cant complain. Id rather take the boring app and superior audio and hardware for this price than vice versa. Matchy matchy with my oneplus 12. 10 out of 10. I love this colour both phone and buds look gorgeous. Sorry for butchered english and long post. Here is a potato 🥔 ... show more

  • Very good quality for the price
Color: Zen Green
The case looks like cheep, but you kind of understand is not. Though it would break easily, but it works fine. The sound is really good and balanced. I also use it for work calls and mics are great. Easy to pair, even it connects to more than one device at the time, and switching from one to another works fine ... show more

  • First Impression: fantastic set of earbuds
Color: Storm Gray
*update* After about 3 weeks of using these earbuds everyday, I love them even more than I did when I first received them. For what I wanted out of a set of earbuds, these are close to perfect. My only real complaint would be they have a tendency to come out of my ears, but I can't say it's a problem with these earbuds specifically because every pair I've ever owned have done the same thing so obviously I'm the problem. Other than that these get a resounding A+ 5 stars from me. I've only had them for about 24 hours so far but I'm highly impressed with them. Quality of the earbuds and case is good. The case is a good size and easily fits in your pocket. Sound quality is great to my ears, but that's one of the things I care least about oddly enough. The touch controls work great and are customizable through the app. Haven't had any issue with connectivity at all. The paired easily the first time I tried and have paired without an issue every time since then. Battery life seems good but I haven't had a chance to get an accurate idea of how long they will last yet. And last but not least, the ANC. This was one of the deciding factors for me on which earbuds would be my next purchase. I've tried quite a bit, from the really cheap to the $150+ price range. The ANC on these is fantastic. Transparency mode works but it could be better. I never use that feature anyway so that doesnt bother me. For my needs these earbuds are excellent so far. If anything changes I'll update my comment but for now I recommend 100%. ... show more

  • Good for playing music but not anything else
Color: Storm Gray
I had a non-brand Chinese set of earbuds (the actual brand's name is some random string of consonants with a lot of x's and z's) for about 6 years that worked great with my previous phone and my current One Plus 7. What I liked is that I could leave the phone on silent mode and when I connected to bluetooth, I would still get a notification for an incoming call. Initially it would play the actual ringtone and after a couple of years all of a sudden one day it just started making a beeping sound instead, but at least it would tell me that a call was coming in. After about 6 years they started to loose battery power so I looked at new earbuds and decided to go for the same brand as the actual phone that I had. After a few days, I have very mixed feelings about this pair. I love the noise cancelling function and the sound quality of the music I've listened to has been good. However, there are two very serious drawbacks. First, no matter what I have tried, when the phone is on silent, there is no notification in the earbuds for an incoming call. It's fine if I'm listening to music when a call comes in, it just all of a sudden goes quiet which makes me look at the phone to see what's going on and I can see that there's a call. However, if I just have them in and I'm waiting for a call, there's no notification when the call comes in, I have to actually keep looking at the phone to see when the call comes in, which kind of defeats the purpose of the earbuds. I tried to see if I could adjust the settings and was able to get the actual ringtone to play when a call came in, but then when I turned off the bluetooth and put the earbuds in the case, even though the phone was still on silent, all of a sudden the ringtone started going off full blast when a call came in, which completely defeats the purpose of being on silent and could potentially be quite embarrassing, if not get me kicked out of somewhere. The only option I have found to get a notification through the earbuds when a call comes in but not have the ringtone play when bluetooth is not on is to slide the slider to regular volume after I turn the bluetooth on and connect the earbuds and then be sure that I remember to slide it back to silent mode when I turn the bluetooth off and disconnect the earbuds. It's not the worst solution but does rely on my remembering to slide the volume slider each time. Second, while the sound quality of music is quite good, the sound quality of calls is awful. It's very bass heavy and muddy and I have to put in about 110% mental energy to listen to the call to actually understand what the caller is saying. I've also noticed callers saying "what?" every time I say something much more frequently than with my previous set of earbuds, indicating that the microphone quality is not very clear either. This makes the earbuds only about 50% functional compared to my previous no-brand earbuds that were $25.99, about 1/4 of the price of these earbuds. I've looked and looked and looked online to see if there are any fixes to these issues and have only found multiple forums of complaints about these same issues with no fixes. Given how much they cost, I'll likely continue to use them, but whenever they die I won't buy another set from this brand and go back to a non-brand pair for a fraction of the price. ... show more

  • Good Quality
Color: Storm Gray
These are nice and compact, and the battery life seems to last quite a while. I haven't ever really had them die on me, I try to make sure I plug them in at least once every few days. I do not use them every day all day, but I do use them for 4 or 5 hours at a time. I use them for calls and media, and the sound quality is great in both instances. The touch controls can be a little bit odd, but you can customize them in the companion app which is much appreciated. If you do not have a One phone, you will likely need to manually edit a couple of the controls in the app when you first use them which had me confused at first but it was a one and done deal. I would definitely recommend these. ... show more
