  • Worth The Switch - OnePlus 13
Style: OnePlus 13 Color: Midnight Ocean Size: 512GB
The OnePlus 13 just arrived in time for Father's Day! After having a Google Pixel 6, I wanted to try something different. The online reviews for it really caught my eye, and I'm genuinely surprised by some of the negative comments I've seen because my experience with this phone has been nothing short of awesome! From the moment I unboxed it, the striking blue color captivated me—I almost don't want to hide it in a case! It's reassuring to know it has an IP69 durability rating, offering top-tier protection. In terms of daily use, the software is incredibly fluid and responsive, the camera consistently captures excellent photos, and the battery life is phenomenal, often lasting me well over a day. What truly impressed me was the inclusion of a fast charging brick and cable right in the box, a thoughtful addition that many other manufacturers have unfortunately phased out. If you're in the market for a new smartphone and open to exploring a different brand, the OnePlus 13 is definitely worth a look. ... show more

  • The best phone for the money
Style: OnePlus 13 Color: Arctic Dawn Size: 512GB
The best of Oneplus and Android!!! Having owned a OnePlus 12r, and just Android phones since 2013 (Droid Maxx being my first) . This is the phone for tech people and just anyone in general. Checklist of what I like and don't like below. Likes -Beautiful 6.8 screen that can have a fixed 120hz refresh rate, color reproduction on the OLED screen is top notch with plenty of customization options in terms of accuracy. Has Ceramic shield for durability. -I love the aquatouch, I have used it in the steam room or when working out and I can actually decently type with the screen wet. (IP 69 ensures I can use in high temp Sauna without issue) -Oxygen OS I love the layout and customization I love the global search at the bottom of the icons yes it reeks iPhone but I like the feature -Battery life is outstanding although on par with the 12r, quick charging as well. -Love the included charging brick which both Samsung and Apple no longer include. -Camera is probably the best oneplus has ever done. Hasselblad partnership has helped OnePlus up their game. -Snap Dragon Elite processor, is just top notch performing if you want to do gaming this phone will do it without issue. -Always on screen is customizable and fantastic. - IP68/69 rating highest possible for Water resistance. -Speakers are good, produces great sound via bluetooth with customizable profiles. -Less AI What I do not like or other may not possibly like -Oxygen OS includes dual apps like for photos and you will get a feeling the app is trying to fuse some of ios features into it like a dynamic island clone I like them myself but this will not be a Pixel Like stock Android. -If you are expecting tons on AI integration like the Pixel series, this is not it, while there is Gemini and magic eraser some of the more baked in AI you see with Samsung or Pixel is not here I like that others may not. -You cannot get this phone through carriers for financing, but hey Amazon has financing options. -While I am not a Camera guru or enthusiast, the Cameras while they are solid are not on par with the latest Pixel or iPhone very close but not there yet. -This will not receive as much updates as the Pixel, Samsung or iPhone. In closing to me this is the best phone you can buy, the performance and the quality is on par with the best but on average costs less. I do not like Samsungs take on Android but other might, I hope my review helps those that are on the fence. ... show more

  • Notification bar needs massive improvement
Style: OnePlus 13 Color: Midnight Ocean Size: 512GB
Let's start with the things that are unbearable **The notification bar is terrible for an advanced user. Who in the world thought it would be a good idea to NOT allow the pinning of the on call Phone notification to the top of the notification bar... I use the phone while I talk on speaker phone all the time and I can never get back to the current call to press number for menus or hang up the call without pressing the power button and clicking it from the lock screen. This is because they do not pin the current call to the top of the notification bar. Instead they let it float around with the 9000 other notification you have. That wouldn't be the end of the world if the notification bar was more like Samsung with the icons next to each notification so that you could easily scroll through and see what notification was what. Unfortunately that's not the case. The notification bar all blends together and distinguishing what notification is important and what notification isn't is painful. If your the kind of person that clears all of their notifications this won't be too much of an issue but if your like me, someone who practically runs their business from their phone with about 10 email accounts and 400 apps then this notification system is just not good enough. **The weather apps sucks! At first it was telling me the weather in my notification in Celsius despite farenheight being checked. Now it's fixed itself but why is there no widget! I switched to using Nova Launcher instead of the stock launcher because I needed to organize my apps in folders because I have so many and the stock launcher doesn't let you do that in the App List. Unfortunately the weather app doesn't have a widget though so I cant have the weather on my homescreen using the Nova launcher unless I want to use an ad ridden 3rd party app. C'mon one plus this software is lackluster for a $1000 phone. If they could fix these issues the phone would be solid but the notification issue makes me want to return this phone. The good **Battery life is great **Battery charge speed is great **Screen brightness is great, although its auto adjust is too conservative making me constantly have to manually turn up the brightness. **Phone looks stylish (I have the blue leather) ** Side switch for volume/silent/vibrate is cool but probably more of an issue for people like me that never take their phone off vibrate. If accidentally put it in silent a few times and missed things. **Showing how many devices are connected to the hotspot or that the flashlight is on in the top circle around the front camera is a great feature. Maybe make the current call go there as that would fix my issue with finding the current call. Overall the difference in price in the US of this phone Vs. What you can get the S25 Ultra for doesn't make sense. If the S25 Ultra had 80W charging I would have just purchased that as I paid $950 for this phone and the S25 Ultra I could have gotten for $1050. I only bought this phone because of the battery and charging speed. ... show more
