This router did not disappoint. It is very easy to use. It has coarse and fine adjustability. It easilly performs and is strong. It is NOT a substitute for a larger, corded router but it is able to perform the job. I used it for baseboards in my shop. Ran it for approximately 350 linear feet of 1x6x12 boards with zero issues. I used one 5AH battery and it still had 1 bar remaining on power level (although I’m quite sure it was close to being drained completely). Would I purchase this again? Yes. I pretty much just buy Ryobi for the quality. I’ve used different brands over time but have found Ryobi to be very reliable. This router is perfect for my spindly forearms to handle. I love it!     • I like it but one problem
So this is a handy little router. The chuck on it is solid. The grip is alittle awkward but I feel like if you get the plunge grip it would fix that but the lock that comes on it to adjust depth isn’t the greatest. I set a depth I wanted and I started cutting and then it just dropped all the way down. I had to tighten the lock as tight as it could go and every now and then it gets loose. Also the way the grip is sometimes you hit the release for the depth lock. So I would recommend this tool but if you get a plunge grip attachment. ... show more

I bought this because Im a fan of Ryobi tools. Once again, they didnt disapoint me. I needed a small hand held router to do some work on guitars and this did the job expertly. The only thing is, it kills your battery pretty fast. 4.0ah will last about an hour. I would deffinatley recommend this tool. ... show more

I really enjoy the feel of this router compared to my other router. It is a very smooth cut. I like the adjustable speed to keep it from burning the wood. And it's easy to change the bits.

This week I received this Ryobi PCL424 from a 3rd party company that I ordered through Amazon. I was/am quite impressed with the 'Thank you' / 'Welcome' letter' included in the box...with the owner's name, cell number, and personal email address in the letter! GREAT job!!! Very nice touch! I normally buy all my Ryobi products from an online competitor. I don’t mind and have had success with buying Ryobi ‘Factory Reconditioned,’ or ‘Factory Blemished’ products in the past. However, lately, before I pull the trigger on a purchase, I started comparing prices on the net and found that in a couple of instances I was able to buy ‘New’ Ryobi products at comparable pricing elsewhere, hence this order. In one instance I ‘assumed’ I was buying a new product, but it too was not in a Ryobi factory sealed box, it was in a brown box which indicted to me it’s certainly not new. In this instance I searched all over the Amazon description and was unable to determine new or used, so I took the chance. To my great satisfaction it appeared to be new. I’ve not used it, but I’m sure it’ll be fine as I've had great success with all other Ryobi products.
