  • Pleasantly Surprised - but Amazon had 2 different version being sold under the same model! Pleasantly Surprised - but Amazon had 2 different version being sold under the same model!
Style: Stand
After looking to replace my 2-tiered stand with a 3-tiered stand and realizing that I was definitely going to lose money doing that, I just happened upon this product. It's On Stage and my stand is actually QuikLok, so I wasn't totally sure if it would work. Plus universal equipment, in my experience, has been universally bad at replicating the quality of a dedicated product. I was very pleasantly surprised though! This extra tier fits very tightly and is extremely sturdy. I saw some bad reviews from people who said it collapsed, but I don't know how that could happen unless the whole stand collapsed or they greatly exceeded the weight limits. It's actually MORE sturdy than the second tier on my stand. And here's the MAJOR benefit: I actually have two 2-tiered stands and a 1-tier stand, all from different manufacturers, and this fits on all 3! That means I can have any configuration of tiers that works for my current setup. This is some of the best money I've spent in a long time. I highly recommend this universal extra tier. WARNING: I ordered two of these and was just about to order a 3rd, when I started looking at the reviews again. As I read them, I realized that there are two different models, and I actually have one of each. I never noticed this because one is on a Z stand and one is on an X stand. It seems that On-Stage, maybe after all the bad reviews, updated their item and kept the same model number. I believe Amazon's photo is of the older version, where the posts connect to the back of the keyboard arms (and probably where the complaints about rust and broken welds come from). The new models connect the posts in the MIDDLE of the keyboard arms (see my photo from another seller). This gives a different experience when it comes to adjusting and how far away the new tier is from the player. I have the back connector on the Z stand and the middle connector on the X stand and that works. If I switch them, the Z stand works okay with the mid connector (a little far away), but the X stand with the back connector does not work at all. The third tier hangs out further than the second, basically in line with tier 1. I still love these. Mine work great in my studio with no problems at all. I'm not sure if I'm going to order my 3rd one from Amazon though since I have no idea what I'll get. ... show more

  • Wow. This is the 2nd tier stand to get. Stable, solid, no wobble
Style: Stand
This 2nd tier stand is exceptionally good. Pros - Solid construction. The sizzor expanding part that goes into the back of the existing stand tube is a great way to get a very solid connection. (A few said it wobbles. Not so if you tighten it well. The adjustable horizontal telescoping tube is great, especially if you have to adjust from a player who's standing to one who is sitting. It easily lets you decide each time you play. The rubber tube covers to pad the keyboard are thick, and the bottom stops are thick and solid. The adjustable angle screws and teeth are good. Cons - Not really one. The telescoping tube end screws were a bit hard to align, but you only have to do it once, so it's good. Summary: If you need a 2nd tier, this is the one to get. A keeper, and worth the price. ... show more

  • Great, but isn't perfectly level
Style: Stand
In the times before COVID, I am on tour 100+ nights a year all over the country. This extension is beyond sturdy and does a great job support my Moog Sub37. A few issues: it isn't perfectly level. Despite reassembly, there is a slight tilt and there's no way to adjust the height of the second tier (just the angle). Honestly though, for the money it's worth it. But, it'd be nice to have some variable height options and a bit more attention to quality control in order for the top tier to be truly level. ... show more

  • Fast shipping, no damages, product as described. Fast shipping, no damages, product as described.
Style: Stand
Arrived quick, no issues with package. It just works, sturdy and tilt, width adjustable. One thing to keep in mind, the width is really set by your stand, this just accommodates that width. With my 44 and 61 key setup, I had to make the width fit the 44 key, meaning my overall setup is now a little higher. For now it didn't bother me, I had to raise it about four inches, maybe in the future I'll look into a stand that allows different width keyboard setups without changing the height, but thats just the simplicity/limitations of an x stand. ... show more

  • Updated Review - Still Solid and Works Great as a Third Tier
Style: Stand
I was shocked how solid this second tier is. Easy to set up and I can rock away with zero slipping or shaking. Very affordable and high quality. Update after 1 year: The second tier is still solid, no wiggle at all and I've added another unit to create a third tier. So in all, I have two tier extensions on top of a double X stand holding a ~50lb 88 Roland, ~15lb Nord, and a ~10lb synth on the top. Very pleased with these tiers as a stationary at home set up. The only criticism I have is that there isn't the capability to adjust the height so they are spaced a little further apart then I would prefer, but the tilt on the arms allows me to reduce that space. Still holding at 5 stars. ... show more

  • This is a great add-on tool for dual keyboard musicians!!
Style: Stand
This 2nd Tier is a great unit for mounting a second keyboard above a first one on the X style keyboard stands with the proper diameter tubing sized to accommodate this 2nd Tier. If you adjust it correctly, there is room between the lower and the upper keyboard for lighting and playing. This is a must for practicing or gigging musicians. The 2nd Tier is packaged in a box that you wouldn't believe can house it. Once you open the box, you can see that the unit has a telescoping back strut that is the main strength of this unit. You are also able to adjust the slant on the upper keyboard to ease in playing. Even though, I have one keyboard higher, I can still play both of these using different hands comfortable. If you have a music staff/stand, you probably have to use it on the top keyboard, as there is room to play the lower, but not enough room to place the music book. It has to go on the top tier or make some other arrangement. This is a great unit for the price and allows you to place two keyboard in the single footprint. ... show more

  • Not for all stands
Style: Stand
Do not buy this stand if you purchase a pyle z heavy duty stand. It will not work the square inserts are huge on the z stands. This is the only reason I gave it a three star. Since I have a x stand with circle tubing I will make a third tier for and midi controller or a vintage synth that is light weight of course. I was hoping to stabilize my 88 key triton extreme on my second tier z since is wobbles. I wondering why companies have not build a universal crossbar like this 2 tier has. I rather not purchase a 400 dollar stand just for the 2 tier to be stable and not wobble. This unit is very solid, but please inspect before install because the 1 side teeth in the locking mechanism did not line up seem bent, but I line them up and tightened until the teeth is closed completely. I could return it but this is very useful for a future stand just make sure of its compatibility. Final thoughts. KM Spider pro seem like the only 2 tier that 2 88 key can fit but for the price you can build a custom wooden desk, or a company make a crossbar to stabilize any keyboard on the 2 tier. ... show more

  • Works as intended.
Style: Stand
Does what it's supposed to do. Install was a piece of cake. Is sturdy. Don't see why some people gave it a low-rating.
