Amazing quality item for price and accuracy. I’ve had this product for a little less than a year and it’s working just as good as when it came out of the box! If the machine senses the cuff isn’t placed correctly it will give an error message and not perform a reading which is super important for accuracy! The instructions are reiterated on the cuff (as shown in the picture) to prevent user error as much as possible. I have to keep a log of my blood pressures for my doctors so the ability to connect/sync to an app to keep every reading in one place is a game changer. The product is extremely easy to use, I have had no difficulty and syncing to the app was a breeze as well!

Good Quality, Smarter Than Higher Priced Units

I originally bought an Omron Platinum BP monitor. It has irregular heartbeat detection - just as this one does. But the more expensive Platinum unit aborts the BP measurement and DOES NOT show BP if an irregular heartbeat is detected. This unit flags the heartbeat issue (and does so with more info) AND still displays the BP!!! The more expensive unit was useless since most of the time it did not actually show my my BP. I understand the the BP may be less accurate if there is a irregular heart rhythm but showing the BP gives me some useful info. This unit has way less info than the more expensive unit. If you want to track BP for more than one person you will need to use the App (which I don't). But if you just want to track you own BP and pulse rate over time, this will work. HOWEVER, the more expensive unit does do a date/time stamp for each BP reading inside the unit. This unit doesn't have an internal clock. But if you use the app, I think it will tag the reading with a timestamp. The app connection (to your smartphone) is via Bluetooth. One other difference between this Silver model and the Platinum is that (IMHO) the supplied cuff (with the silver) is easier to use than the cuff that came with the Platinum. There is a curved plastic insert in the cuff of the Silver which grips the arm and helps hold the cuff in place while I tighten it. This unit does what I need it to do and doesn't hide key information if it thinks I have some type of arrhythmia. The unit (as are other Omron BP monitors) is approved by Validate BP.

Wonderful machine

A doctor recommended to me, and it sure works great. It keeps recorded readings, you can write notes on the the readings, many more helpful options. I do really recommend it.

Sufficient and fairly accurate. Could use a few improvements though

I like that this device is dead simple to use. The app that corresponds to the monitor works well once you set it up. I like that it syncs with apple healthkit so that all of my readings are in one place. That was a critical feature for me and I’m glad that it works well. Now all of my readings are in 3 different places: The device itself, the Omron app, and the Apple Health app. Apple health syncing makes it easy to send all of my vitals recorded from different devices to my doctor in one report. That’s why it was so important to me that this worked with what I’m currently using. Battery life seems to be decent as I have been taking readings consistently for the past few months and I recently started seeing the low battery icon this week. I wish the screen on the device had a backlight to read in a darker room. I do like that the readings are large on screen and easy to read in a bright room. When in less than ideal lighting conditions, you can always use your phone to read your results in the app. I bought this one to replace a BP cuff that couldn’t sync to Apple Healthkit. The measurements between the two devices are pretty close to one another, so I feel confident about the accuracy of the readings. I also wish this came with the AC power adapter so you could plug it in instead of using batteries. You have to buy that separately, which is what I’m going to do because batteries are very expensive these days. The adapter will pay for itself over time. I just think it should’ve been included. Also, the travel bag is very thin and cheap and doesn’t offer any protection from bumps or drops, but it keeps the cuff and the monitor in one place. Overall, this is a decent BP monitor with bluetooth features and Apple Healthkit compatibility. I wish it were cheaper, came with the AC adapter included, had a backlight, and had a better quality travel bag. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks though.

The warranty is not what you think!

I purchased this brand over others for the name brand and figured it came with a warranty. My unit blood pressure was reading high so on my next visit to my Dr I brought the monitor. The nurse and Dr tested it and we found it was reading average 20 points high. So I figured let me contact them for warranty service since I am well within the warranty period. So I get a reply that yes the actual monitor is still under warranty but the arm cuff is only covered for 1 year and is not under warranty. So they expect you to buy a new cuff at your cost (half the cost of new monitor) and then retest it to see if it still reading wrong. Thank you for contacting us at OMRON Healthcare. We appreciate your interest in our products and are here to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about your health. Per the warranty in the back of your manual: Your Blood Pressure Monitor, excluding the arm cuff and batteries is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship appearing within 3 years from the date of purchase, when used in accordance with the instructions provided with the monitor. The arm cuff is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship appearing within 1 year from the date of purchase when the monitor is used in accordance with the instructions provided with the monitor. The above warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser. We will, at our option, replace without charge any monitor or arm cuff covered by the above warranty for 1 year. Replacement is our only responsibility and your only remedy under the above warranty. The cuff would need to be replaced at your cost. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please refer to our Support page. Sincerely, OMRON Consumer Service Representative So bottom line you actually need to buy a new arm cuff every 12+ months or the unit may no longer be accurate. So to me this is misleading since this is buried in the small print of the manual and renders the warranty on the monitor useless if they expect me to buy at my cost a cuff to test if the issue is the cuff or the monitor.

There's a version of yourself that figures everything is probably fine and doesn't need monitoring. That version of you is optimistic and I respect him. There's also the version of you that buys an OMRON and actually checks — the one who decided that knowing is better than guessing when it comes to what's happening inside your chest. That version is smarter, and he has better data. The OMRON Silver is no-nonsense in the best way. Wrap the cuff, sit still, press the button, and thirty seconds later you have actual numbers — not an approximation, not a vibe, not a nurse telling you to relax while you're actively not relaxed. Real readings you can track, compare, and bring to your doctor instead of shrugging and saying it seemed okay. The large display is easy to read, the memory stores multiple readings, and the whole thing takes less effort than convincing yourself you don't need it. A word on the data: it will occasionally be higher than you'd like, usually right after coffee, a stressful phone call, or simply reading the news. This is not the monitor's fault. The OMRON is just the honest messenger — and as messengers go, it's a reliable one. Consistent readings, clinically validated accuracy, no drama. The machine simply tells you the truth and leaves the lifestyle decisions to you. OMRON has been the name in home blood pressure monitoring long enough that your doctor will recognize it and not ask follow-up questions about whether it's accurate. That trust is worth something. Decent machine for the price

The cuff is like a coiled spring and can be a pain to get up over your upper arm by yourself. Otherwise, the machine is very quick to obtain your BP reading and pulse. The phone app is fairly easy to set up and has a provision to add notes under the BP reading in the app itself. I use the note section to record what I ate in readings where it may be higher than normal. All in all, a good machine from what I can tell.
