This 10lb dumbbell feels very well made, and I love the curved grip - it feels much more comfortable in my hand compared to the straight grip all my other dumbbells have. The grip is a textured metal, rather than neoprene coated like many other brands. The benefit of this is that the metal feels a bit cooler to the touch compared to my neoprene-coated weights, which was pleasant when working out on hotter days inside my fitness room - though the metal may not be as desirable if you store your workout equipment outside, as the sun could heat the metal. The rubber coating on the "weight" part feels like it will be a bit kinder to floors and walls when you set the weight down or accidentally bump it into things. The "hex" shape will keep the dumbbell from rolling when you set it down, which is also nice. Overall, it feels like a very high-quality dumbbell with a thoughtful design. I needed to get a 10 lb. dumbbell, and I wasn't too picky about which one I ordered. I really just picked this one because it was a good price. There are some things I know now after getting it that really make this a great product. The hex ends keep it from rolling. Such a simple idea, but my smaller dumbbells do not have that, so I really appreciate it with this one. The grip is nice. It is textured which feels to me like it's a little more secure when I'm holding it. I was also really happy I could buy just one and did not need to get a whole set. Overall, this is about as nice as you can get for the price. It has a nice, slightly textured grip. The hexagon shape does keep it in place so it won't roll. It does have a thin rubberized coating that should keep it from scratching surfaces. It's exactly what you want in a dumbbell. It's a nice value for the quality that you get. ... show more

Nice dumbbell that is affordable and feels nice. Rubber coating protects floors and whatever else you might bump into. Weight seems accurate and is a nice size. Grip is good on the design of the handle too.
