Very durable. Quite stable (haven't fallen off yet). Be careful around submerged rocks, broke one of the prop blades off and wasn't the hardest of hits. Other than that, I have 3 old town PDL kayaks now..

I have zero complaints about the boat. It is by far the best value to features of any pedal kayak currently on the market. Stability is unreal. Drive feel and performance is great. Plenty of power and speed. The ability to auto reverse hands free is my main reason for choosing this over a flipper drive. Going full speed and being able to stop the boat within seconds is a very over looked feature of the prop pedal drives. See a fish, rocks, stump, weeds and stop almost instantly without reaching for anything. Cockpit set up is roomy with pockets and tracks and storage console. Old Town has the best warranty and reputation for customer service. I have not had to contact them myself though other than registering the kayak on their website which was easy. ... show more

Did not want to deal with the return process for such a large item. Otherwise great product but definitely dissappointed about the un removeable mark and dent. ... show more

If you want a stable yak, this is definitely a good choice. I can stand up in it, but I still get a little wobbly when I do so. Tons of features. I love it. If there is a downside, it's gotta be the weight, but honestly if you want stability, it's gonna be a heavier yak. Pedaling is great, get about 4 mph with little effort. If you want to go faster than that you're gonna have to work. Every part of this yak seems to be of utmost quality. I'm gonna get one for my wife. ... show more

bought it for fishing. I'm - 5'11 205 lbs and this boat is Extremely sturdy. I can stand up without an problem and fishing with ease. The pedal system is wonderful. I highly recommend anyone purchase this boat. This is the smaller one - 10'6" and it is perfect in the bay or lake. You'll have no regrets on buying it. ... show more

The Topwater PDL is very nice. The drive system is really smooth. If I ever buy a bigger kayak, I am staying with Old Town for the drive system itself.
