This is a great desk for a great price. It is a very durable piece. This desk was used for an attorney's office and can withstand both the traffic and the weight of stacks of paperwork. Building the desk was very simple and straight forward, they included two instruction manuals, one for a right side set up and one for a left side setup. I had a few replacement parts, but the customer service department was very understanding and offered viable solutions. It is definitely a job to put it together. Assembling it where it will stand and carefully putting it in place is important. It is quite heavy and at least two strong people need to handle it to ensure no stress is placed on the areas screwed together as this is compressed wood and moving it wrong can cause the wood to stress and break. One criticism is that there are pieces to be screwed on for finish work, but the screws provided are too short to hold them on. I had to get some new screws long enough to hold the pieces on. Otherwise? I love the desk. We put it together with the L shape as one piece and the large desk as a stand alone. The price it was very well worth the put purchase. It was a one man assembly which took me two days but on a very slow pace. I would say it would take the day if you did it alone. You will need help on occasion to lift parts up. Also there about the parts that did not have numbers so there was guess work. Once assembled it looks to hold up very well. So the desk is very poor quality. Barely a step above cardboard. The directions are very poorly written and several pieces don’t line up as they should. We had to drill several holes in order to get the pieces to fit as they should. The original delivery was missing several pieces and several damaged. The company did (finally) send replacements but took a while and I was left with this desk in pieces all over the room until I got the replacements. I truly regret buying it and would have sent it back except they said I’d have to pay for return shipping and I’d have to rebox all three boxes and take them to shipment place. I’m 68 years old and no way can I lift them to do that. What good was prime in this order? If you want junk and a lot of aggravation ok but if not DON’T BUY THIS DESK ... show more

As stated in a few other reviews the directions can get a bit confusing but if you take your time and place pieces for visual with pics in directions it comes together. There are a few connections with no pre-drilled holes specifically on the molding pieces and the metal brackets that connect the desk pieces. I added Elmer's glue to all the posts that insert into the locks and instead of using the metal brackets to connect the executive desk to the L-shaped, I used 3 bracket to connect the L-shape. There is also a left over large piece that I did not see used in the directions that I put on top of the hutch to give it a more professional look but did not screw in. The extra bracket and Elmer's glue made it much more sturdy as the posts do not all fit tightly. There is plenty of desk space...I work from home and have multiple laptops and monitors and no problem getting everything setup with plenty of workspace to spare. The directions call for 2 people for assembly but I was able to put it together myself over 4 days after work working at a casual pace. I was also able to move it myself a short distance but it is extremely heavy and sliding on a rug or rough surface is quite difficult. Overall very satisfied and would highly recommend to anyone needing a lot of desk space. ... show more

The desk itself is now fine, but I am writing this so others are aware of how bad the customer service is. We ordered two of these. We had multiple pieces that we received damaged. The response from customer service was quick, but there actions were non existent. For weeks they kept giving me the run around. The replacement pieces were never sent. Finally I called Amazon and the replacement pieces were sent immediately. I do not normally write these reviews, but if I can help anyone else having the same problem then it is worth it. For those of you that gave bad stars, it's because you are terrible with instructions. Yes they can be challenging but if you take your time, it goes together great!! Only two issues, the screws they give, the Philip head is to wide. I used every type of Philip head and they all stripped. No big deal. I went to the hardware store and got a box of 50 1inch screws. Boom it's fixed!! Second issue was I was missing one boars for the shelving. Called the company and she said I'm so sorry sir. What part number? Told her and no questions asked, sent the missing piece. Took 4 business days. Never do I get that good of a service!! For $750?!?! This desk is a TANK!! I felt bad for the delivery guy. Came in 3 boxes. All extremely heavy!! Had to carry from garage to room in pieces!! Lol yes it's heavy so I recommend two people put together but I would by another no joke. This thing is rock solid!! To the guy that did hot glue with those plug green things, dude you did something wrong. Unnecessary!! When put together right, all my boards were solid!! It's a nice, sturdy desk with lots of space. The single drawer is a little shallow, and personally, I'd prefer another drawer, so there are 2 deeper drawers instead of the door/shelf between the top and bottom file drawer. There were no instruction surprises, whereas in another piece I bought, in the same step, one piece needed to go on before anything else, which wasn't obvious from the instructions. Do put the 2 large desk parts together and put them into your final placement before connecting the middle piece. You do not want to move this all together. It took about 3 hours (with an assistant - definitely needed for certain times!) plus a little extra fixing the below issues: Two design issues: Pieces 80-82 (the front trim pieces) are not lined up well with the groove, so do not depend on the groove, especially since these screws are very short. They will not hold if you have to back them out. I redid them after the piece was together so they lined up right. Also, connecting the top cover on the hutch, those screws are too short to hold effectively. I thought about getting slightly longer ones, but I just installed the top after everything was in place. A good yank on the top will pull it off. Summary: It's a nice piece if you are budget-conscious - recommend! Bestar: get longer screws for a couple of spots, and ditch the grooves on the trim pieces! ... show more
