They(5a) can definitely break easily if accuracy of the strike is still being honed. Used consciously they can last. If you break sticks regardless these will save $ especially with how out of hand cost is on name brands(albeit worth every penny). Best for jazz, quieter gigs, practice.. Contrary to what might be expected, I'd recommend beginners use promark or vic firth to start. Learn with the best quality stick and then when you know your limits and need to save some $(so when you break heads etc too you can buy them..grrrr..lol) get something like these. My two cents do what you gotta do.

SO.... your getting what you paid for. so if your in dire need of sticks yes get these. But i have a big problem. they brake a lot and really easily and when you are drumming there are a lot of wood chips flying around
