This is a review for the OHLPRO Magnetic Knee Board for Pilots, Universal Tablet Pilot Kneeboard Compatible with All iPad mini/Air/Pro, iPhone, Galaxy Tabs, Aviation Flight Mount I must say that when I first purchased this Magnetic Knee Board, I was skeptical about how often I would use it and for what purposes I would use it for, but then it arrived and my mind completely changed... Obviously, like the listing says, this is more likely suited for Aviatiors and/or people flying planes that can have a tablet or iPad on their knee and have the device stay perfectly still while doing so. But, as someone who doesn't fly any type of planes besides paper (lol) I didn't know if I would have very many uses for this knee board. But I was pleasantly surprised but the amount of things you can actually use it for. Like my title says, if you're in bed but with your knees up, you can put your tablet/iPad on your knee and watch movies/shows while lying in bed. This is also a great solution for people who don't have their own TV but want to watch what they want to watch, just make sure you don't fall asleep with the device still attached to the metal ring and roll over on your tablet... You can also use it if you're sitting in a recliner either to keep your device in place while you're playing games or something, or if you're reclined with your knees towards your chest, you can have this hold your device while you're doing whatever you want and not have to hold it the whole time and have your arms get tired of holding it for hours on end. I'm sure the possibilities are endless for a product such as this! I also thought about strapping the magnetic "knee board" around a pole, tree, fence post, tent pole, etc so that it can hold your device so the whole family can enjoy watching the movie/show without one person having to hold it the entire time or use it so it can hold your phone, tablet, or iPad while you are video calling someone and it'll keep the frame steady and secure. All in all the magnetic knee board works well for the intended purpose and for so many more. Not just for pilots! As an airline passenger it works great for reading books on tablets too. The size makes it perfect for putting it where you want it, and is easy to set up and use. Holds my phone too without having to put on the big ring thing. I am surprised that this doesn't cost more as it is a pretty cool and functional gadget. ... show more

I ordered this item so that my mother would be able to hold her iPad on her knee more securely while she's lounging. What a terrific idea! I will say that she has some trouble threading the belt through the buckle and getting it to stay securely. There are troubles with it slipping off because the velcro doesn't hold very well. I do believe that some of this is "operator error" - so there's nothing wrong with the product itself, but I do believe the velcro could be a little bit stronger. Overall, this is a terrific product and anyone who has trouble with their phone or tablet should definitely consider this. There are rings provided for phones or tablets that do not have magnetic backing, and the magnets are incredibly strong. I do very much wish there were more detailed instructions for folks who don't have as much dexterity as we younger folks... I've included a snapshot of the instructions which are slightly lacking. So we have a good magnet on this gadget, it works extremely well. I have been using this in the car when I’m waiting to pickup my kid for carpool. I usually have multiple devices I’m managing and many times I will drop them. This is about the perfect device when I’m waiting in a parked car. I think this might also be useful for musicians, I have also been using this when I’m messing with music apps on multiple devices. I think if you are a guitarist and you use your phone while you play, this is kind of perfect. I am thin and the primary strap supplied fits my leg, but if you have a larger leg you can always use the extension they have supplied. While I am using this strap it holds one of my phones very well, but an older phone not as well. The reason I believe is because the magnetic cases are different, one has a larger magnet than the other. Obviously the larger magnet is going to hold better than a smaller one. I have also tried with my iPad Air 13 inch and a magnetic case. This works but not as well as an iPhone unsurprisingly. If your case does not have a larger enough magnet, or no magnet at all, you can use the supplied rings that adhere very well to this magnetic strap. It’s super low tech, just a magnet on a strap basically, so I’m not really sure it’s worth the asking price at the time of my order. On the other hand, if you need a way to hold a device and you cannot mount it to anything persistent, like on an plane flight or something, this is highly valuable. Being so low tech means it’s dead simple to operate, no moving parts so very little can break. I would buy this again if I needed another for some reason, but I don’t think I would buy it at the asking price ... show more

I had high hopes for the OHLPRO Magnetic Knee Board, but it ended up being more frustrating than useful. The build quality feels cheap, especially for something that’s supposed to hold up in a cockpit environment. The magnets are weak and don’t securely hold the tablet in place—mine shifted multiple times during light turbulence, which is the last thing you want while flying. The “universal” fit is also misleading. My tablet barely fit, and once it was in, accessing buttons or ports was awkward. The straps are uncomfortable and don’t stay tight, constantly needing adjustment during flight. Overall, this kneeboard feels like a gimmick rather than a reliable pilot tool. For the price, I expected something much more durable and practical. I wouldn’t trust this on an important flight. ... show more
