We are having a tick problem in our area! We started spraying this on before going out to garden. Since then, I’ve had one tick and sweet hubby has had none. We figured out we hadn’t sprayed my back and it made it through the gauntlet between my pants and shirt. We started spraying our lower backs as well as exposed feet, legs, arms, and necks. No ticks since then! I do recommend showering when you’re done outside or you’ll feel sticky when the spray mixes air sweat. Works for me! Mosquitoes LOVE me and call all their friends from miles away to surround me in a cloud. I’m allergic and get big wheals. My hiking friends are mosquito free because they all want me! This product cuts down big time on bites. I reapply every hour or so depending and it really helps. I won’t go without it during mosquito and tick season. I spray shoes pants, arms, and hat. I twirl while my friend sprays from a distance. So thankful for this product! Two pack lets me put one in my pack and the other in my friend’s pack. Last me a couple seasons. ... show more

Works well for bugs. In most scenarios (not including Florida nights at a humid beach, nothing is strong enough for those bugs). However, DO NOT USE ON WATCHES! I just sprayed my arms normally, and some got on my watch. The DEET in it apparently reacts with the plastic/resin and leaves it cloudy and crusty. Hopefully I can buff the damage out, but we’ll see. I guess it’s my fault for not looking it up, but it specifically says it doesn’t damage clothing, so I didn’t even think about it not being ok on other things. ... show more

    • Drat Those Florida Yellow Biting Flies!!

The mosquitos don't seem to be the main problem in Southwest Florida. After all the county does a pretty good job of spraying the wetlands and keeping the skeeters under control. What they can't control are the biting yellow flies. Those buggers glom onto you as soon as you walk out the door. They dive bomb you and land on any patch of bare skin they can find. That includes your eyes, ears and even into your mouth! They are impossible to swat away once they have you in their gunsites and the only way to avoid their painful bite is to patiently wait until they land on you and then smash them to smithereens. But just as soon as you kill one there are probably two others to take their place. Even our Irish Wolfhounds are leery of them. So I always cover myself up with hat, gloves, shirt and pants in order to prevent very little targets of opportunity for them. Even so they will attempt to find an opening in your defense and will hound you with angry flybys until they land on your clothing. Fortunately they can't bite through cloth very easily but they still annoy the heck out of you. Off! Deep Woods is one of the few repellents that actually keep them from landing on you. So once I am kitted up I give my whole ensemble a spray-over to show them that I'm serious. Because of the heat/humidity and sweat I generate the dose has to be repeated every hour. One of the last defenses I added to my get-up is a mosquito netting hat that covers my face and mouth. The last fly that surprised me flew into my mouth and bit the inside of my throat as I swallowed it! No more of that now. ... show more
