Description

The OEMTOOLS 24444 Coolant System Refiller Kit purges trapped air, checks for vacuum leaks, and allows the user to refill the coolant system quickly and easily. Every coolant flush kit should be equipped with a reliable cooling system pressure tester kit and pneumatic filler. This all-in-one coolant filling kit drastically simplifies the cooling system service process. Using a vacuum to remove air from the system, the radiator pressure kit then uses the cooling system airlock to draw coolant into the system, filling the engine block and radiator. This eliminates the time-consuming job of having to refill fluids slowly to avoid air pockets, for a much quicker and more efficient process. Please note if your cooling system is vented, you will have to plug or seal the opening to establish a vacuum. The included cooling system adapter set consists of 5 bushings and a tapered cone adapter to fit a broad range of makes and models and comes with a convenient carrying case. Every professional and DIY mechanic knows they need an engine coolant pressure tester and coolant filler tool that they can rely on. When you use the 24444 Coolant System Vacuum and Refill Kit, you'll understand why the OEMTOOLS name is trusted by mechanics everywhere.

  • Great Product, Highly recommended 2012 F350 6.7 diesel.
Size: 12" x 5" x 11.7" Style: AirEvac Cooling System Refiller Kit w/ 5...
Bought the 24444 with 6 adapters. This is a quality product that worked perfectly. I would buy again and recommend it. Some of the negative reviews might be operator error. There are good videos out there to help you operate it appropriately. I have a 2012 Ford F350 6.7 diesel which this product is recommended to eliminate trapped air and applying large amounts of coolant fast and efficiently. The large tank it did over fill a bit, but easy drain to correct level after running for a spell. Smaller tank just right. To clean have all valves closed except the coolant fill and run water thru it and then apply some air to get most of the water out. Set out to finish air dry. You are ready for next time. Cheers. ... show more

  • THIS THING IS AMAZINGLY AWESOME!! (plus read review for tips)
Size: 3 Adapters Style: AirEvac Cooling System Refiller Kit w/ 3...
I found out about cooling system vacuum refiller kits while researching how to change the coolant in my car (which is notoriously difficult to change due to the tendency to get air bubbles and air locks upon a coolant change). Some people were reporting spending 8 to 10 hours doing ALL KINDS of crazy things to try and fix a hard to clear air bubble in my type of car. So, after a ton of research, I found out that these kits make changing your coolant literally a piece of cake and it only takes a couple minutes. This would be a huge advantage because I'm going to do a 'home flush' with distilled water, which means draining and refilling 3 or 4 times to dilute all the old coolant out (then refilling one last time with 100% strength new coolant). After researching, I found out that there is a leading brand of these vacuum coolant kits that costs approximately double what I paid for the OEMTOOLS 27066 kit. That brand gets great reviews, but I didn't want to spend well over $100 for my coolant flush. So, I picked the tool that seemed like the next best quality, and I was NOT disappointed. This thing worked GREAT! It literally took 30 seconds to place the cooling system under vacuum, and another 1 minute to fill a gallon and a half of distilled water back into the system. And NO air lock afterwards. Here's some things I learned: 1) Pay attention to the reviews and closely look at the pictures of the kits you are considering. A number of cheap kits (not this one) look the same and get consistently bad reviews. The OEMTOOLS kit (and other branded differently but identical kits) get pretty good reviews. Also note that some of the kits do not have different expanding rubber bushings to exactly fit different sized radiator necks. They just have a tapered rubber 'cone' that you cram in there and hope it holds. I really prefer the custom fit of the OEMTOOLS style kits. 2) When I first tried to use this kit, it did not work at all and would literally draw no vacuum despite running my air compressor for several minutes. I knew that my cooling system was solid. I knew that I had the tool well sealed in the radiator neck. Honestly, I thought I possibly had received a defective tool, or maybe my air compressor was not big enough to create the vacuum. I slept on it, and figured it out! My overflow hole is very low in the neck, and the tool was not able to seal that passageway. Simple fix was to remove the hose to the overflow tank and use a standard rubber vacuum hose cap to plug it. Once I did that, my small compressor created the required vacuum in literally less than 30 seconds. 3) I have a very small pancake-style compressor. I think it is 2.7 CFM at 90 PSI. It had NO TROUBLE AT ALL pulling the required vacuum. I did not need a huge shop-size compressor. 4) The other reviewer is right...the air compressor (male) fitting that comes on the kit is not the standard 1/4" quick-disconnect. It looks like it is bigger...maybe 3/8"? It definitely did not work and I had to temporarily rob one from another tool. FYI, in case you want to purchase one in advance. Hope this helps....this was a great tool and made this job super easy. ... show more

  • Solid Set for leak test and refill
Size: 12" x 5" x 11.7" Style: AirEvac Cooling System Refiller Kit w/ 5...
Purchased to do a refill on a Diesel engine flush refill. Lots of gallons of coolant and separate systems to test and refill. Good value. This unit comes with a handful of adapters and plugs so it would seem to fit a wide range of systems. This product fit the bill perfectly for the job and made the process faster cleaner and helped complete the job properly.. Well made, easy to use and clean. Will certainly last for many coolant changes. Usage is straight forward but I wouldn't disagree with folks looking for instructions or general setup tips from the manufacturer. ... show more

  • Works well, but poor quality control
Size: 12" x 5" x 11.7" Style: AirEvac Cooling System Refiller Kit w/ 5...
This tool turned out to be a mixed bag. The tool is well constructed and does what it's supposed to do quite well. Very easy to use and nicely constructed. While the coolant tank adapters work, specific caps for the application would offer a much more robust solution. What I didn't like was the tool mfgrs. quality control. My "1st" tool's vacuum gauge did not work and actually had rust around the screws on the gauge and around the fitting from the gauge to the manifold block. Luckily, I bought this tool from Amazon and received a replacement the next morning. I had originally contacted the mgr., but the resolution process/time was deemed unacceptable. My second gripe is the tool's packaging. It comes in a very nice blow moulded case, but everything just flops around inside. Makes zero sense. Bottom line is, It works very well if you get one that works. The method for attaching the tool to coolant fill tank is a bit lacking, but does work. ... show more

  • Does NOT work! Junk!
Size: 12" x 5" x 11.7" Style: AirEvac Cooling System Refiller Kit w/ 5...
Does NOT give accurate readings! I purchased this to see if my daughter's car had a leaking head gasket. I tried this OEMTOOL, and for more than a dozen times I could not even pull a vacuum. I thought for sure the engine was leaking internal. I tried, just for curiosity filling the system with water. Ran it up to temperature and let it cool several times, and the coolant never leaked any! I then went to a local garage and rented there Snap On tester, and the system pulled a vacuum the 1st time, and never leaked off for over 15 minutes. The bottom line is this tester looks "pretty", but does NOT work, and gives you false readings. I would not even give it a "1", but it's the lowest you can rate this. Don't waste your money or time on this. My two cents.... ... show more
