The replacement blade is exactly like the one that came with the Ryobi 40V blower (RY40408VNM). Installing the new blade was easy and took 15 minutes once I had the correct screwdriver, which is a long skinny Torx 15. I had a drill bit but the adapter was too wide and wouldn't fit in the hole to reach the screws. So I bought a cheap Torx set on Amazon that worked perfectly. I bought this one: https://amzn.to/4tUFgvs 1. Remove the seven or eight screws with the Torx 15 screwdriver 2. Slice the warning label that's in the back vertically 3. Pull the two main plastic pieces apart. 4. Loosen a nut holding the blade with a wrench or pliers—be sure you are holding the other end so that it doesn't spin 5. Swap the blades 6.     • Quality product, worth the repair, fast shipping!! Will fit 40408VNM
Cost effective way to get your blower back in business with a little effort especially if you own the 40408VNM. Its a little more work to disassemble than others in the Ryobi line but worth it. I recommend removing or cutting in half vertically down the center the warning label on the back for easier disassembly. Not to bad though. Will need torques bit driver, channel locks and a number 13 socket, extension and ratchet for replacement. Product seems to be of original quality. Only time will tell.
