At a time when every manufacturer seems to be raising prices while simultaneously cutting corners, reducing unit size and lowering product quality, it’s refreshing to find a company that isn’t on a path to the lowest common denominator. It’s not cheap, and you’re not gonna see it on the catwalk in Milan, but this thing is a very good value. I didn't realize how many details go into a hand muff - but clearly there's a lot - and this company seems to have perfected every one of them. Everything about this product is executed at a high level. The exterior material is very rugged, feels a bit like fire hose material. It doesn't seem to stain and provides protection from any weather element we've thrown at it (wind/rain/snow/sleet/cold/sand/dog slobber/etc). Stitching is single row but is well executed w/o any loose strands or fraying ends. While plastic, the carabiner hooks used for strap attachment are beefy and the clasps are metal with a tight spring action. The neck/waste strap is reinforced/padded and easy to move between positions (either around the neck or waste). They even included an additional clasp in case one breaks (who does that anymore?). There’s a generous external pocket (also zippered). It isn’t cavernous but you can easily fit a pop tart or your phone with some room left over. It’s a nice touch, but can’t say I use it. But wait, there's more! The hand entry points each include 2 oversized zippers. Why 2 per side you ask? This allows you to open it either up/down or down/up. Small detail, but it makes a difference in use. These aren't those tiny/fussy zippers either. No way, these suckers are beefy, easy to grab and travel up and down the tracks with confidence – daring you to go faster each time. Get past the zipper fortress and you're introduced to the second layer of security. In what appears redundant at first, each opening of the fleece muff can be cinched using the integrated cord-lock-adjuster-doohickies (official term). It's a nice option depending on how you’re using it. Bare handed you can close it up a bit and still get in/out easily. Want to wear some light mittens/gloves? No problem. Just loosen the cinch’s up and you’re still able to dart in and out like a whac-a-mole. Once inside this little gem, your hands are welcomed by the fuzzy comfort of luxurious velvet (OK, it’s just fleece, but it feels really good). A quick feel around the inside of the muff and you’ll find your other hand. Keep looking and you’ll find a small pouch for either a disposable heat pack or an electric version. The pouch feels like spandex. It’s has a little stretch to it and holds our USB heater perfectly. When it’s chilly out, I tend to toss a heater in and zipper her up a couple of minutes before heading out. If you need mittens, toss those in too and allow them to preheat. Tater tots? Sure, give it a go. Once you need it, unzip those pearly gates and dive right in. It’s like you’re sticking your hands into a bag of freshly microwaved popcorn (minus the salt and butter). It’s so comfortable, you won’t care about wiping that runny nose on a cold day. Go ahead, just let it drip. The setup is great for most outdoor activities, and is a must have for work that requires any level of dexterity. With a hand warmer, it’s plenty warm enough for bare hands when doing work outside in the cold. The whac-a-mole design makes entry/exit seamless, allowing one to skip the gloves and take full tactile advantage of those opposable thumbs you were blessed with. Tuck ‘em back in for a little warm up and then you can be right back at it. Remember those zippered gates? When you’re done with the muff, they conveniently close the place up along with anything inside. This way you can sling it over your back like a messenger bag so you can’t be accused of owning a fanny pack (even though you do in fact now own a fanny pack). Any negatives? Well, sure. One, it’s a little bulky. I’m relatively fit, but with it strapped around my waste I know how an average Chicago Bear’s fan feels trying to tie their shoes. It isn’t easy bending over with this thing on. It may also get in the way if you’re trying to wear a tool belt. It should be worn a bit high around the waste so it will work, but you won’t be drawing your hammer out like Billy The Kid. It's hand wash only. Not a big deal, but them's the rules. Also, I don’t think it’s ideal for very wet weather if you’ll be putting your hands in and out a lot. I imagine our velvet cocoon will get damp and could be difficult to dry out (this would be true for any muff I guess). Finally, while this muff would be ideal for viewing sporting events – it’s not for participating in them. Don’t get this for your kid to play football in and then come back here and give it a 1 star review. That’s not what it was designed for. Unless cut, the adjustment straps will be hanging out and flying around. And while plenty sturdy for working outside, hiking, snow shoeing, walking, etc – the clasps aren’t designed to break away more than once. Get a muff designed for sports if that’s the use case. My hands get cold easily. I spend time outside a few days per week doing promotions and this very well made item will be perfect. I usually don't purchase items with just a couple of reviews, especially avoiding items with only vine reviews. This is an exceptionally well made muff that would also work at outdoor sporting events, outdoor holiday fairs, etcetera. The fact that there is a pocket for a hand warmer makes me look forward to the next cold spell. This is one of the few items I've purchased that far exceeded my expectations. ... show more

The material and sewing looks very durable. The inside material is soft and quiet for hunters. The exterior material feels and sounds like canvas which seems durable but could make some noise depending if other thick material rubs against it. The pouch doesn't have excess bulkiness and the strap does fit around my 39 inch waist. There is a top zip pocket for easy access to a phone and wallet or keep some hand warmers inside. ... show more
