I had low expectations about it and it really came through. I set it up at the office to play around during down time. It is very easy to assemble. The board is quite big. Others I had seemed more for toddlers. The only thing I would complain about is the basketballs. They are way too rubbery and bounce all over the place. It seems somewhat flimsy on the door but once you put the cushions on it to make it "flush" to the door it gives it that sturdiness it needs. It is easy to store as well. It says you can dunk it but I wouldn't do that. Overall I would say it's priced at a good price point.

Whether it was raining cats and dogs or the sun painted golden streaks in the sky, this little setup was every child's dream, indoors or out. What impressed me was its robustness. Assembly was pretty easy, and the instructions are clear on what to do. It took me around 45 minutes, however I've never used these types of washers before so quite a lot of that time was me attempting to put the washers on backwards. :') So if I'M saying it's easy to assemble, you can trust that it is easy to assemble even for a beginner. It comes with everything you need for assembly, including even a screwdriver, wrench, and basketball pump. Once you've inflated the balls, they bounce really well, so kids will be able to dribble them on hard floors. I feel like the balls are just the right size for the hoop. Personally, I wouldn't recommend kids dunking on any over-the-door hoop, because I would worry about the door getting pulled out of alignment over time, especially if it's on an interior door. That said, if you think your door is sturdy enough to handle it (or your kid does it when they aren't supposed to, because... as we all know, kids don't always follow the rules), it should be safe at least. Since it screws together, the pieces keeping it in place are metal, and it does have the spring, it seems less likely to fall or snap than some other indoor hoops. ... show more

I actually own one of these already that my son has had for a while and loves; he just turned nine years old. His friends always play this when they come over, it has just become a thing they do when they are downstairs. I actually hang ours from our front door on the inside. It is right next to where they play video games and I would much rather have them doing this than gaming. Surprisingly, I would say they shoot hoops as often or even more often than they sit down to game. I bought this one for his friends birthday party. It arrived and has all the parts and is a nice sturdy quality. I like the size of it because it is big enough that they can actually shoot hoops and have a good time, but not so big and obnoxious that it bothers me a ton. It doesn’t make much noise when they are just shooting baskets, however, when they ‘dunk’ and pull on the rim that definitely makes noise but that is expected. I also like that it is not a ton of loud bright colors because the backboard is mainly clear and it semi blends in with my door. Overall, I really like this toy/sport item and I will continue to buy for gifts in the future. ... show more

Fun door basketball rim. Its fairly durable and will take a little bit of abuse. The rim is break-away and has a decent give. The cushions behind the backboard give it decent stability and prevent it from moving excessively. The rim can unlock and fold up flat for easy storage. There is an extra net and screws. Assembly: About 30 mins. There are 3 screws with nuts at the bottom that would be much faster with a socket. They provide you a little wrench that is a little painful to use. There are 4 screws on the top require a Philips screwdriver (provided). The net needs to be pushed and wrapped threw the rings like a real basketball hoop/net. The 3 balls then need to blown up with the provided pump. All tools required for assembly are included. There is nothing difficult. It will just take a little bit of time without a drill with sockets. With a drill and sockets it will take about 15 mins to assemble. FYI: The height of the ceiling vs the height of the door might matter. I can't shoot with much arc because my ceiling isn't that height. A short child could use this easier with a lower ceiling. ... show more
