Been a long-time fan of Oakley... Full disclosure - I have a BIG, FAT, Head... lol. I wear a fitted ball cap of size 24-25 XXL... In addition to being large enough to comfortably fit this colossal dome of mine, the Flak 2.0 XL's are all about performance. I ride mountain trails on my bike, wear them when touring on my motorcycle, and am an avid runner. These glasses are perfectly snug but not tight, never slip, and the polarization is second to none. HIGHLY recommend! Only downside is that the lenses scratch very easily and extreme care should be used... This brings me to my next point - I've recently picked up the "Oakley Unisex Adult Sunglasses Leash, Blue, 50 mm US" which is a real lifesaver... Part of the reason I'm buying these glasses for the 3rd time, is that I have a bad habit of putting them on top of my head where they've inevitably fallen off and after several times, my last pair were badly damaged... So if you're interested, the leash (shown in the attached pics), is considered the "small" (50mm) size. In the description, you'll see that these are considered "Small" which is not indicative of the leash length, but rather, the size of the apperature within the rubber fasteners located at either end. Again, 50mm fits these glasses Finally, do yourself a favor and shop around! Prices can vary widely and change daily... I paid $180 for these but see that currently they are being listed at $210! Considering how much I paid for this order, this transaction ended with a prompt request for a refund and a trip to the UPS store the same day it was delivered, with a return label in hand! The first bad sign was the dilapidated manufacturer’s box for a completely different model of Oakley sunglasses. I ordered the Flak 2.0 XL, but what I got was what looked like a replica that came off the rack at an AM/PM gas station with HAND PAINTED logos on the temples, housed in a crushed box that was labeled for Oakley Flak Draft sunglasses. I was in absolute shock, disbelief that someone actually took the time to put this monstrosity, this abomination together. It gets better. The description for this unit read “Item shows minimal signs of wear, consistent with being tried on but not used”. The inspector was either drunk, or high, or both because these sunglasses were absolutely filthy. There was fine dirt embedded throughout the ear socks, nose piece, and on the top half of the lenses where they mount to the frame. There was also a film of dried sweat, or hair product, or both, all over the entire frame which acted like glue within the ear socks, making them nearly impossible to remove for inspection or cleaning - what if I wanted to swap the ear socks for a different color? After inspecting the unit thoroughly, I concluded that the only genuine Oakley pieces in this package was the box that was for a different model, the portable storage vault, the ear socks, and MAYBE the lenses. I wasn’t willing to accept a three figure loss for $12 ear socks and a $20 storage case, so this order went straight back. If this was a genuine pair of Oakley sunglasses, they will not be added to my collection. These sunglasses were undoubtedly very comfortable, but felt cheap and fragile with poorly painted logos on the temples. I suggest giving them a try and judging them for yourself. Personally, I didn’t like how close they sat on my face. They fogged up right away because they didn’t breathe well at all and it’s been around 110°F all week “here”. If they had better ventilation and the logos at the temples didn’t look like they were hand painted (with cheap nail polish by a 5 year old), I would have considered keeping them. Overall, the Flak 2.0 XL have a great design concept that’s offered in several colors to suit any occasion. I’d leave a more thorough review, but I got poor replicas... ... show more
