The life jacket is designed short (I think) so when the kid sits down the jacket doesn't lift up and squeeze his neck. Definitely not a youth size. This thing is tiny. My 8yr lives in this by the pool. Makes him confident when entering the pool. Hes a small but fit kid so its just a lil tight across the chest which mean we get one season out of it but worth EVERY PENNY SPENT

I actually liked this item but its just too small for my kids. Its summer so I just want to share that this didn't fit my kids, who are both well below the 90lbs limit in the size chart. I get why weight is important in the description because this is a floatation device but I think chest size is important in sizing as well. My youngest has 28-inch cheast and the top-most strap could barely lock while it is already adjusted for maximum length. This is way too small. My 7 year old daughter wears size 6/8 and weighs 52 pounds. The top strap is as large as it will go and it is extremely tight on her. My 12 year old, weighs 85 pounds and she can’t even get it on.
