Description

Days on the lake are a family affair and O’Neill has the little hellians covered. The same attention to fit and quality that we put into our adult vest line goes into this comprehensive youth series. Youth, Child, and Infant vests are available in neoprene and nylon versions. The most trusted name in the water delivers again. Sometime around 1952, Jack O'Neill opened the first surf shop in a garage across the Great Highway. He shaped a few balsa surfboards and sold accessories like paraffin wax and few vests (glued together from neoprene). When the vests started selling, Jack decided to go into the wetsuit business. His friends laughed. They asked him what he planned to do for business after the handful of surfers in the area had bought one. Jack said he'd cross that bridge when he got to it.

  • This worked really well for our 15 month old
Color: Berry/graphite/smoke (4727)
This worked really well for a life jacket for our little one. it feels super snug and secure, has a little handle to be able to hold onto them well and is bright enough to easily see them. Will definitely be looking at larger sizes of this as our kid gets older!

  • Works!!!!
Color: Lime/graphite/smoke (4727)
So I’m going to start with saying that this has been such a relief to have. My son was in an awkward between stages and sizes for life vests. He’s 14 months old and 22 lbs. he walks and runs and likes his independence. However, he was too small for puddle jumpers even the 20 lbs ones bc he can’t hold himself upright in the water yet. So after trying a bunch of different styles and types this style was def the safest. He legit fell in the water almost immediately after putting it on and he floated right in his back.m! I only gave it 4 because it’s hard for him to run around in and bend over and explore but really that’s not going to be an issue for long it’s just the age. ... show more

  • Perfect for our 8 week old!
Color: Patriotic
Must have for infants on a boat!! Our baby didn’t mind the jacket and all and just slept or used it as a teether. Great quality and price.

  • Decent
Color: Berry/graphite/smoke (4727)
It serves its purpose but the strap between the legs causes severe chafing if worn for more than an hour, especially if your little one is active.

  • Works great
Color: Lime/graphite/smoke (4727)
My two year old grandson was running by the pool while wearing this life vest. He slipped and fell in. The vest immediately flipped him face up. It's a relief to know how well it works.

  • Cute and Comfortable
I bought this life vest for my 10 month old daughter (weighs about 20 pounds) after reading the reviews about its comfort. It did not disappoint! She's an independent walker already, and when I first put it on her, she toppled over and giggled. (The fall protection is like a secret bonus feature!) But after standing her back up a couple of times, she got the hang of it and was running around just as much as usual. We got it for her to wear while boating, and with over an hour and a half on the water, she never complained. In fact, she was so happy, she was bouncing up and down and squealing, so it didn't phase her at all! I can't yet speak to the functionality within the water, but on comfort and wearability, it's an A+. A couple of things to note: This is a Type II life vest, which means that it is designed to balance functionality and comfort. So it's very bulky, but again, didn't slow down our daughter. Also, my only complaint is that there's not a better color selection. Only blue and pink are offered. We plan on having another child, so we tend to buy everything possible (except clothes) in gender-neutral colors. Given the two options, we chose blue for this (having a girl in blue seems less of an issue than potentially having a boy in pink), but a green would have been nice. ... show more

  • Must be comfortable... he fell right asleep!
Color: Lime/graphite/smoke (4727)
I bought this when I had some friends with a young one coming and we were planning to go for a boat ride. He was about 15 months old -- you never know how little ones will react when you strap them into something, especially a life jacket.... but must be comfortable, he slept the whole boat ride! My friends liked it enough where they asked if they could borrow it a couple times as well. Fortunately have not had to try out the actual safety features, but I am definitely happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Comfortable for younger babies
After a lot of research, I’m very happy we decided to go with this product. We needed a life vest for the pontoon boat on the lake, and I was worried about fit and comfort, since our son was just about 11 weeks when we got this. It has all the safety features I was looking for. It also seemed like the most comfortable option, out of all the infant life vests I looked at. The baby didn’t love wearing it, but that’s to be expected. He did settle in and I was able to get some smiles and laughs out of him, and he took a bottle and a nice, long nap while wearing it. In the picture, he’s 11 weeks old (but he’s long- 99th percentile!) and it was big, but the straps all tightened to keep everything safely in place. It did ride up and get close to his face, which he didn’t like, but the v-neck helped a lot with that (it definitely could have been much worse). He fussed here and there with it on, but he’s a baby and that’s what they do! I would recommend this life vest to anyone! ... show more
