Excellent life jacket. Per other reviews it definitely runs on the smaller side. My 36 pound 3.5 year old found it to be snug. I can’t imagine a 45 or 50 pound child being able to wear this unless they are very thin. This life jacket is well made and has padding/flotation built around the sides so it stays in place well. But life jackets are supposed to be snug! This worked well on vacation in the pool and ocean. The between leg strap is crucial for younger kids. We accidentally left this at the beach (oops) and had to buy another life jacket. We ended up with a Midas brand which was larger and had gaps under the arms on the sides. This meant it moved out of place and we much preferred this life jacket. I hope the family who scooped it up from the beach are making good use of it! ... show more

Amazing, lightweight, comfortable. Got 2 jackets, one for my tiny underweight 2-yr-old girl & the same size for my average build 5-yr-old girl. It surprisingly fits really well on both of them, thanks to the versatile adjustable straps. They love these jackets, & have regained their confidence in the water as beginner swimmers who are still taking swim lessons but not completely independent in the water. We've packed these jackets for 3 different vacations requiring airplane travel, & although they did take extra space in the luggage, they were sooooo light in the bags, & invaluable in all 3 trips. ... show more

Ordered 2 for my kids who are 4 and 5. Both weigh just under 40 pounds. These fit fine but as others mentioned they run small and we had to have the straps all the way loose to close on my 4-year -old daughter without there being a front gap. Best for kids 30-40 pounds at most. Only a really thin 45+ pound kid could fit in this. And then it would be pretty short on them. We will hopefully get one more year. I bought this for my 3 year old son to wear at the pool and on the boat. It has held up very well to a summer full of use. It’s light weight and fits in suitcase without much fuss. It allows the child to swim on their own while providing the necessary buoyancy to keep their head above water.
