So I’ve had this now for about a month. I have used cake eyeliners in the past and usually love them. This one is a mixed review. The black doesn’t absorb any liquid. I have tried water I have tried cake eyeliner sealant and it just rolls around on the powder. If I scrape The cake and get powder into liquid it does absorb however I have to use a lot of the powder to a very tiny drop of water to get any opaqueness. The brown cake works the way I have used cake eyeliners in the past and I love it. I am making it work so it’s not the worst ever just doesn’t work the way it should. ... show more

So easy to apply and fool proof. No more tugging at the eye area to get the liner straight. Very soft and smoky looking, no harsh liner anymore. Will buy again.

I was under the impression that this cake eyeliner is suppose to have water added to create a liquid eye liner. At least, that is my understanding of what a cake eyeliner is suppose to be. If this is only suppose to be applied dry then it's not worth the high cost for it's size. I could use my own eye shadows to do the same thing. While adding distilled water using a fine mist spray bottle, the product is so dehydrated that it does not want to absorb any water, then when working the droplets in with a liner brush the dry powder of the cake sat atop the liner brush, refusing to reabsorb any moisture at all. Causing it to drop onto everything. Face mostly. For this reason, I give it a single star rating. ... show more

This eyeliner is very messy, almost impossible to apply, and produces underwhelming results. Whether you use a wet brush or dry brush, the cake disintegrates into a ton of powder, but hardly any of it adheres to the brush! It is very messy and tends to fall out all over your eye area if you're not extremely careful. If you spray the palette to wet it, the powder beads up and rolls off onto surrounding surfaces. Again, it's nearly impossible to get any of the water beads and powder to absorb into the brush. You're left with a watery blob at the tip of the brush. If you can manage to get any of this product onto your eye, the color intensity is inconsistent and cannot be applied very darkly. The photo of my eye is after three passes with the brush. Over the course of an evening, it smudges out, so it is not ideal for a winged look. Ironically enough, once it is all smudged and faint and hideous, it's very difficult to remove! ... show more
