Measuring from handle to handle at the widest outside point, this bowl measures 13 inches. It did not fit in my small sized microwave but I was buying a new one anyway so measured to make sure the bowl fit inside. The new microwave wound up being 1100 watts, which is a larger appliance. The lid has no knob on the top, which has its pluses and minuses; harder to lift off the top with oven gloves on but easier to flip over and use as a separate dish or pie plate. It's not as thick as I guessed it might be while still not being thin. It's thick enough not to be fragile and stands up well to the oven, hand washing, and microwaving. I haven't tried the dishwasher yet but see no rain other than size why it shouldn't work out well. I use this several times every day and store it between uses. It stacks well, and I store it with the top upside-down on top of the bowl. It holds heat, that of the contents once they're hot if you keep the lid on and the bowl itself, so use pot holders. Also, when you remove the lid, condensation from inside the lid drips from the edge and steam escapes so lift the edge away from yourself. Excellent product, I'll be ordering another in a smaller size as well.

Update 7/8/25 - I tried it out with my sourdough bread and it came out surprisingly well. I mixed, proofed, did the rise, and baked all in this casserole. I was concerned that the wobbly cover would let in too much air but it was fine, see pics. —————————————- I had initially bought this for my sourdough bread because the recommended 3-4 qt cast iron Dutch ovens are just too heavy for me (my main oven section is right at floor level). This casserole is just a little too wide and not quite deep enough for a typical sourdough loaf, but I will keep this anyway for casseroles as I like it a lot. I may try shaping a really tight, higher loaf and see how much it spreads; I’ll let you know if it works (for those interested bread bakers). NOTE: Be very careful lifting the lid unless you have oven gloves on! I just used potholders and burned my lower hand/wrist area. This is the first lidded oven bakeware I’ve used that didn’t have a knob to lift the lid so I wasn’t prepared for the amount of hot steam that was released by the edge where you have to lift it off.

I needed to replace a similar item that broke, and this seems to fit the bill though we haven't run it through for cooking yet. The lid will serve as a separate 'plate' too, which is nice. The package was crushed, but the item seems to be OK so it's all good.

Packaged well, product appears to be good though I have not used as the measurement of this item is NOT accurately described in the measurement section. Says height (depth) is 5.2" but does NOT indicate that this INCLUDES the lid. The actual measurement of the bowl itself is just under 3.5". Not suitable for my needs, was looking for a bowl that was truly 5" in depth.

Hard to find a glass dish this big with a glass lid. I use this for mixing and proofing bread dough. The glass is thin and cheap, the lid isn't the snuggest fit, but it works and gets the job done. I use this every day, has not chipped, broken or given me any problems.
