  • Patented Dumping Method: Simply give a gentle tap with your foot on the side button, and the side lids of the fruit picker will automatically pop open. You can pour the nuts into the attached drawstring bag for easy collection. Once you're done, a gentle tap with your foot will gently close the lid preventing any more nuts from falling out. Compared to traditional methods like pulling steel wires or opening lids, our approach is more convenient. You won't need to bend over or use your hands.
  • Easy Disassembly and Storage: Following the instructions, assembly takes less than a minute. When not in use, the golf balls picker can be easily disassembled and stored in the provided drawstring bag. After usage, a simple rinse with water and drying is all that's needed.
  • High-Quality Materials: The pole of the yard fruit roller is crafted using reinforced aluminum tubing, maintaining a lightweight feel while ensuring robust durability. The spherical basket, constructed with high-quality steel wire, boasts excellent elasticity, allowing for easy collection of fallen fruits without causing any harm to them.

  • Great for picking up gravel!
We've got several "tree islands" in the yard. Patches of ground with three or four large pine trees, and covered with small volcanic gravel surrounded by the lawn. The problem is, one errant pass with the mower or being a little careless when raking the pine needles from the island, and a ton of that gravel ends up in the lawn. Then, invariably, a strong wind comes up covering the gravel with pine needles. Short of getting down on your hands and knees and picking up each piece, there really didn't seem to be a practical way to clean up the mess - especially if you'd like to reuse the gravel. I decided to try the "Nut Gatherer, Walnut Picker Upper" to see if it might solve my problem. I was delighted to find that it does a great job of picking up the gravel. This product works by having objects like gravel or nuts temporarily force the wires apart as you roll the basket along the ground. Once they're inside, there's no pressure on the objects so they can't spread the wires and fall out. All-in-all an ingenious tool. I can't speak to the product's qualities for picking up nuts (though a few acorns popped in as I picked up gravel) or anything else other than gravel. But it works pretty well to clear your lawn of gravel and small rocks. When I first tried it, I put a good deal of pressure on the handle - sort of like scrubbing a floor with a mop. However, this caused to wires to come out of their mounting holes, so I quickly found that the best way is to just roll the basket back and forth like you would do with a carpet sweeper. If you have a lot of gravel in one place, you may have to spend a little time to pick it all up, but it picks up isolated pieces of gravel with the first pass as long as it isn't embedded in the dirt or is covered by debris. The major issue is if your gravel is smaller than the opening between the wires of the basket - the small stuff would naturally fall out as you roll the basket along the ground. The handle length is adjustable. I'm about 6 feet tall and I found the length to just barely meet my needs. If you're 6'2" or taller, using the product might get a little fatiguing. If you have a good deal of gravel, expect to be dumping the basket fairly frequently. Luckily, it's very easy to dump the contents into a bucket or box. This is a great invention and if you have a yard full of scattered gravel, you owe it to yourself to check this product out. ... show more

  • Huge fan
There are pecan trees in my family so I grew up picking up nuts with a device similar to this, but sort of an earlier model. It just kind of looked like a barrel-shaped spring on a stick. That one was pretty useful - and is still around decades later - so I thought I'd get this one and give it a try. It's not pecan season yet, but I was able to take it out and find some old ones from last year still hanging around. This is incredibly easy to use - just roll it around on the ground. It will pick up everything, so you'll need to shake out leaves and such, but we don't have other nuts or gumballs or acorns to worry about, so maybe when it gets full the leaves will sort of crack into small pieces and fall out. If not, I'm still not mad. It takes practically zero force for this one to work, in contrast to the older model that you kind of had to pop on the ground to get the nuts. This also picks up lots at the same time, just rolling back and forth. The last couple of nuts take some shaking to get out, but no worse than the older one. I like that this one has a cap on the end (easily foot-operated to pop it open). The other one just has an open end so you can lose some bounty if you bounce it wrong. I didn't use the bag. For one thing I wasn't out to collect anything, and for another, buckets stand on their own and are far easier to use (and that's how the pecans go to the folks who shell the nuts anyway, so cut out the middle man). There are plastic parts so there's probably going to be a shelf life on this that's not as long as the all-metal one that's been around since before I was born. I don't know how this would do with something with a spiky surface like gumballs, but it did pick up pecans still in the husks without any issues, and they're not smooth. I'd absolutely recommend this if you have need of this type of product. ... show more

  • Good materials, but mine was missing a necessary screw and nut
I ordered this because I thought it might pick up nut fragments that the squirrels leave all over my driveway and in the grass along the side of my driveway. It doesn’t really work well for fragments, but it does pick up whole or mostly intact nuts. I like that it is made of sturdy materials. The handle and the nut basket are made of metal. I like the telescoping handle, with latches that lock the desired length in place. The foot controlled opening on the side of the basket works well, opens and closes easily. I did have two issues with the device I received. Mine did not come with the nut and screw to secure the handle to the basket. I had to go to the hardware store with the helpful hardware folks who helped me find just what I needed. If this happens to you, go to a store that sells single nuts and bolts, etc. from the little drawers. That’s the only way to get exactly what you need. The second thing I noticed is that two wires on the basket were crossed, due to the wires being inserted in the wrong places. Instead of them looking like this: IIIIII they looked like this: IIXII, which left a slightly larger gap in the wires. Other than those two issues, it’s a nice little tool for picking up things like nuts and balls. ... show more

  • Screw attachment doesn’t line up
Disappointed that the pick up basket won’t attach to the handle. It seems the bottom extension lock was installed a little too low and the holes won’t line up, even with some encouragement it’s doesn’t work. That said, as a vine reviewer I did run the wheel over some acorns and walnuts and it does a nice job. The foot release would be nice. I did try some larger (closed) pine ones and that wasn’t worth it but small stuff worked well. ... show more
