Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o) It's not everyday you are challenged to protect your oversized yet unique kayak for the winter season, let me tell you! I've been hunting all over Amazon for a decent kayak cover that won't tear when trailering, can contain a boat that has a large beam, and special parts. Every time I found one, I ordered it only to be a tad disappointed in some part of the kayak cover. For the first time ever, I feel a glimmer of hope. This grey-colored Nukugula Kayak Cover 16 Ft seems to cover everything (pun intended ;o)! This quality cover is well stitched, the heaviness of the fabric is as promised in the listing. Even better, there's a zipper at the bottom of the cover to slide your boat into, so that there's no openings at the top of this material, making it really waterproof and gives me much needed UV protection. Now I know the critters will be kept out, and the boat will be clear of debris of all kinds, a good thing. No surprises for me next spring, yay! But of course, it's a bit tricky to get this cover on my 14 ft boat itself, but once done and zipped up, it's great. It's easier with two people to get this on my rather heavy, 100 lb, twin hulled boat-- so my hubby came to the rescue. I will confess it's a different 'application' method than I'm used to, with the zipper on the bottom, but I understand the reason for this design-- it's to keep the rainwater/snow out for sure. So I'm willing to spend a few extra minutes to get this particular cover on my boat, no worries there. The handles are sewn well, but because of the sheer weight of my kayak, I wouldn't rely on using them a lot, as I don't want the handles to tear off the cover fabric. Two long sturdy straps are provided, and they came in handy to keep the cover secure, as well as for trailering my covered boat. Lastly, there's a storage bag to keep the cover in good shape for the next round of using this cover. ;o) As a matter of fact, I actually own two of these specialized recumbent bike kayaks, and may purchase yet another cover! ;o) Give this Nukugula Kayak Cover 16 Ft a try... Includes cover, storage case, 3 straps. Will provide follow-up to initial review after a season outdoors. Living in the south our weather is all over the place. I bought this as a 2nd layer to project our Jackson Big Tuna. While boat is not 18ft, had to purchase this size for the width of the boat. I like the material, it feels as though will be waterproof and is thicker that other tarps I have purchased but again, time will tell. If this last until next spring, it will be have been well worth the purchase. Main thing I want out of this cover is to take the damage and protect my boat. Also with having the oversized case it allowed gave me no issues with my internal cover that holds an internal frame in place. The goal of my frame is to keep water from pooling and then giving it time to seep and leak thru both covers. Based on my experience thus far with this cover, I would likely replace with the same make and model.

The quality of this canoe cover is exceptional. It is a very thick fabric that is completely water resistant. The material will definitely keep harmful UV and sun off the canoe. The zipper not being full length makes it somewhat of a challenge to put the canoe in, but getting it out is super easy - just drag the canoe out and the cover stays on the ground. Initially I got the 16ft version, but had to get the 18ft version for my Old Town 164 canoe. If you are using an Old Town 158 or 164, get the 18ft version. There is some excess material, so what I have found works best is slide the canoe all the way forward so the cover is tight on the bow, then take the slack of the stern and wrap it up at the back and secure it with a lashing strap. This cover is squared off in the back for square sterns, so there will likely be some material to wrap up regardless of the length of your boat. I used a couple extra lashing straps to secure the cover from flapping in the wind or drooping. Overall this is a great cover. Think of it like a consumable - you're sacrificing this cover to the elements so that your expensive investment stays out of the elements. The only real negative I have to say would be the zipper flap is opposite of how it should be for storage (a canoe gets stored with gunwales down and hull upward, causing the zipper flap to be the wrong way around and potentially trap water). Overall I am happy with the piece of mind my canoe is protected and I no longer have to struggle with applying UV protectant (i.e. 303) every few weeks to my canoe.

This is a quality product but be aware, it says 10 feet but will NOT fit a 10 foot kayak. Barely was long enough to fit my 8 1/2 foot kayak. I was going to buy two right away but wanted to check it out before buying the second one for my 9 1/2 footer. Glad I did, it would never have fit the 9 1/2 foot one . They need more size option. 10 feet to next size up of 16 feet is not much of a option. Too bad, I really like the product.

This is a beautiful cover that fits a 16' L x 37" W kayak perfectly. There is no extra length so make sure you are 16' or less. The material is a silver gray and is definitely heavy weight fabric. The fabric must be water sealed as water droplets bead up on the surface and it is very difficult to get the air out of it if you roll it up for storage. The stitching is done very nicely. The zipper runs about 1/2 the length and it is not waterproof, but it has a weather flap to protect from windblown water. The bow end is made for a pointed shape, but the stern is squared off for flat ended canoes. My boat is 32" wide and there was plenty of extra width. I like the heavy duty handles that are strongly reinforced and stitched to the fabric. The extra nylons straps are a nice touch so you can pull things tight when storing the boat long term. I really like the cover. The descriptions and images shown on the webpage are accurate. I'm happy with what I received and would recommend this cover for kayaks less than 16' long. I have no experience with fitting it to canoes which can be as wide and have more freeboard than a kayak.
