I just bought this because I got sick of spending a leg and few fingers on that 3in1 oil in those little plastic bottles that always get lost or leak their contents everywhere. I oiled numerous hinges around the house and just stuck the big bottle out in the garage. It is oil and does oily things like one would expect. It says food grade, but I would never consume it. Maybe that means it is safe to put in things like hand creams and lip balms and such. I'll stick to hinges and keeping my tools from rusting. I also use it on my sewing machine to keep it lubed up. I like that I was able to get the product quickly and it had no lingering smell. I used the product to soak hand made baby blocks in for a finish’s. Also mixed the oil with beeswax to make a paste to wipe on the product I made for my granddaughter

This is a good, thin oil that is perfect for treating cutting boards. It’s a thinner viscosity than typical drug-store mineral oil, but this is perfect for penetration of the wood that is needed for a food preparation surface.
