The box arrived damaged. When I opened it, nothing was contained. The wrapping that was supposed to contain the screws was cut open in numerous places. The compressed wood was broken or chipped on most every piece. The plastic facade was bent or broken in numerous places. The labeling stickers were noticeably removed on a handful of pieces. It’s as if someone started to build it, decided they didn’t like (or it was damaged) shoved it back in the box and the company just sent it back out for delivery. I ordered both the 6 drawer dresser and the 5 drawer dresser. Both are very cute, easy to assemble, and have deeper drawers than my previous dressers. I wanted to replace my dark wood furniture with something light and modern. The first to arrive was the 5 drawer dresser, and the box was pretty destroyed. There were cosmetic damages on several panels, and some missing hardware - a drawer pull, a cam lock, and about 50 screws. You can order replacement parts through Ameriwood’s website fairly easily. They sent the missing drawer pull and replacement panels for free, which arrived about 2 weeks after I submitted the order. A corner of one panel did get damaged in shipping but it’s not enough of a problem for me to order another replacement. I didn’t want to wait when it originally came, so I got the missing screws and cam locks from Ace. I built the dresser, minus a drawer pull, using the damaged panels. The damaged pieces weren't structural (the top and a couple drawer fronts) so I was able to swap them when the replacements arrived. The 6 drawer dresser arrived next with no damaged panels or missing parts, and came together with no issues. ... show more

This is very disappointing!!!!When we unpacked the dresser we noticed a few parts that were damaged, we thought it wasn’t that big of a deal but then as we started putting it together we started noticing more and more issues. I didn’t think of returning it because at first we didn’t think it was going to be that bad but many parts are broken, dented or scratched. I honestly regret buying this because now I’ve lost my money and this is going straight to the trash. Please don’t buy it! Also the “rattan” is not actually rattan it’s just fake. This is just very bad quality!!! It’s not worth the price! Very frustrated! ... show more

Half of the drawers had holes and the other half did not! Also we did not have a drill so it makes it even harder!!! So as we were making holes with a screw driver it made the drawer crooked!!! It's a nice dresser but already got scratched from moving and the building process is ridiculous

So many bad reviews. It’s hard buying furniture online because it can come damaged or have missing pieces. I got lucky I guess. I love this dresser and happy I found it much cheaper through amazon than other retailers. Everything was clearly bagged, labeled and marked from screws to boards. Yes this is cheap particle board and printed rattan but this is so much better than ikea’s confusing and cheap designs that fall apart. ... show more

    • Substandard Quality, Aggravating Process

This is a poor quality piece of furniture. I'm an architect, so building furniture actually interests me and is something I feel I'm good at. I put this dresser together carefully and checked that everything was level. I made sure all corners were square as I was screwing and nailing components together. I followed the directions meticulously and stayed the course for all 28 pages. When the moment finally came to install the drawers and admire my efforts, N O N E of the drawers fit evenly within the larger unit. Gaps were asymmetrical all over. There's a problem with the pull-out mechanism on one of the drawers. too. It's too heavy and cumbersome to take apart and return. Buy something that won't make you miserable. ... show more

Screws were missing, some of the planks we damaged. It would’ve been 5 star if this wasn’t the case. Assembling is wasn’t too bad, though. Just upset because it’s damaged and I paid full price for this
