  • Excellent Craftmanship
Style: Song of the Andes
This Peruvian Quena is very well made and has excellent aesthetics. The bone mouth piece is an ingenious feature, as it helps to preserve the instrument's integrity. The tuning of each note seems accurate, and the sound that comes from it is most pleasant. I have a few Quenas, but this one is now my best instrument. I feel that I can play much better, because of its consistent tones. ... show more

  • Best Quena I've Ever Played
Style: Song of the Andes
Physically beautiful, deep & accurate sounding, easiest to play. I already had what looks like the very same instrument, but without the bone mouthpiece. For some reason, the bone mouthpiece makes it easier to play, even though the holes, spacing, notch, diameter and length are identical.

  • Cracked/different flute then in picture
Style: Song of the Andes
The flute cracked in the first 2 hrs of playing it. Also the one they shipped me is brown and i clicked on the tan one with a owl. The quality is nice if it wouldn’t have cracked.

  • Almost?
Style: Song of the Andes
It has taken me several weeks to be able to produce that solid rich tone. That is with just one note though. The all holes covered one. The craftsmanship is very nice. Smooth finish and buff out. I do have one issue. When the mouthpiece was cut the flute was held in the left hand and the rasp/file in the right. You can tell this because the cut on mine is angled to the right just a few degrees off center. No idea if this effects tone or playability. Might be easier to learn if it were true? As may be, mine is off and mostly makes the "breathie" tone. Time will tell, but i want to get to the level i can do some Jethro Tull on it eh? ... show more

  • Beautifully crafted
Style: Night Owl
A beautifully crafted instrument in a very nice case. The night owl is a lovely embellishment. The quena has a lovely sound and goes to the second octave very nicely. I haven't checked for accuracy of pitch, but it's close enough for me. The instruction sheet could be improved since it only shows fingering for the first octave and doesn't mention other octaves. This information is readily available on the internet from many websites as well as Facebook videos demonstrating how to play the quena. ... show more

  • The Bone Mouth Piece Doesn't Last for Long
Style: Song of the Andes
This is an update from a previous review. The mouth piece on my first instrument cracked within days of recieving my flute. When the flute was cold the crack was very thin and barely noticeable. When the flute warmed up when playing the crack expanded and made the instrument unplayable. The vendor replaced the flute for no additional charge. The mouth piece on the second flute also cracked just days after recieving it. I used glue to mend the mouth piece and was able to practice with it until I recieved a better quality flute. ... show more

  • Wow!!
Style: Night Owl
Ok, so I know very little about flutes !!! Only that my husband loves them , and does play them occasionally. When I saw this flute, it caught my eye right away .!! First, he did not, to my knowledge, have this particular type, and second the craftsmanship, I took a chance, and ordered it for him for Christmas. Wow!! He was thrilled !!! As was I with his reaction! He's kind of picky, about his "stuff" and looked it over carefully, loving all the perfect detail! He's learning to play this type, which is fun to watch!! It's a beautifully crafted flute , you won't be disappointed!!!i also have to give 5 stars to the seller!! As it was delivered before Christmas!!! Thank you very much! Again , I doubt you will be disappointed!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ... show more
