Boots seem well made and not bad for the $40 I paid for them on an Amozon Lightening Deal. They are a little large but I wear a 7-1/2 and manufacturers don't seem to make many of that size and therefore boots/shoes in that size seem to vary in the fit. These boots lace all the way to the top through regular plastic oblong eyelets unlike my previous boots that had 2 rows of cleats on the top that you didn't have to thread the laces through. Lack of these cleats make it harder and takes longer to put on and take off the boots. There is no tab to grab on the back top of the boots to help pull them on. Otherwise boots are fairly comfortable (insoles seem a little thin) and should serve fine as "work boots" for occasional wear. If I were to wear these as everyday work boots I would consider some other boots. On the old Redwing Boots I had for years, the uppers were fine but the soles delaminated as did another pair of cheaper work boots that I had. Although the new boots look as if the soles are attached in the same manner as the old boots I had. Probably all boots manufactured in China are made this way but I hope the soles stay on these as goop and other glues could not repair and stop the delamination on the old boots and I had to discard them. ... show more

I did need to put some Gel's in them as that is how I like them, you might like the firmer feel. good feeling boot, comfortable . Not doing much hiking with these boots,, mostly bought them for work, so can't saw the traction of wet rocks and such.

I bought these right before I went to California to go hiking and honestly was very surprised with how well these handle very comfortable, and fits very well and snug. Would highly recommended these for anyone whether you’re hiking or just general wear.

My handicapped son is very hard on shoes. We often buy Ariats endurance boots for the longevity. These Nortiv have a great sole that really holds up to abuse. The sole has good longevity.
