I initially did not like these boots. I found that the even though these are wide, the toe box is still not wide enough. I hiked a mountain trail and when I got down the outside of my big toe had become tender where it was contacting the interior of the boot. I was able to resolve this issue since that trip by wearing 2 pairs of socks, no issues since. I find that the construction of the boot gives excellent ankle support. I recently sprained my ankle rock climbing (pretty bad too), NOT in these boots, but I wore these boots on the two occasions work required me in the office while I was trying to recover. Getting around in these boots was much easier than without, even though I have an ankle support sock. I also feel like my ankle is protected in these. I opted for trail runners when I went rock climbing and sprained my ankle. I am certain that, had I been wearing these rather than trail runners, the sprain would not have happened. I have seen complaints from others about the boots coming apart after one or two wears. That has not been my experience at all. I truly do find these to be pretty solid, and they currently have in the neighborhood of a couple hundred miles on them. These are waterproof, as promised. I know because my favorite trail in my area has a section that is completely primitive and prone to flooding. I have stepped into boggy mud that came up and covered the boots, and my feet remained dry. Once, as I was just headed back through the 2 mile section of trail, the skies opened and I was caught in a downpour, and my feet remained dry. The only complaint that I have about these boots is that the cushioning is not as thick as I would expect. There have been times where trails have become rocky and it just isn't comfortable, or I may be asking too much of them. In the spirit of transparency, its important to note that these are my first legit pair of hiking boots. I've always just worn trail runners before. So my complaint might not be reasonable. Those types of trails are not exactly comfortable in trail runners either.

Bought these based on other reviews. Great look! Great Price! Well constructed! Extremely comfortable at least for me. The only fault that I have with this brand of boots are the insoles. They in fact are horrible, as far as wear. I replaced after two weeks where the lining was coming off. I replaced with work/boot insoles which are top quality and provide even more comfort. Bottom line for the price, quality, and comfort I don't think you can go wrong.

Really pleased with these. They look and feel premium considering the price. We'll see how they hold up on the trails -- I'll update if they prove to be worse than they look. Sizing wise they seem to run narrow -- I tried 11 Wide at first and they were still weirdly narrow in the toe box. Switched for 12, and with thick socks they're alright.

Second pair of Nortiv 8. Not high end for cost, but better wear for some similar range boots. First pair showing a fair amount of wear after a year and a half, but they did the job and still has good tread. I am not a heavy hiker but get out regularly. First pair kept my feet dry when needed.

Fiance got me these boots for Christmas years ago. They've been through mud, snow, monsoons, ran over by golf carts, and have stood the test of time. I highly reccommend these boots. They are also super comfy and don't stink.
