  • Amazing hiking shoe for the price!
Size: 12 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
So I wanted to wait a couple weeks before I wrote this review to try the shoes out. So I have had the NortiV8 shoes now for a little over 3 weeks now and I am super impressed with the overall quality, ruggedness and comfort ability of these shoes! I have now put about 60 miles on these bad boys from deep snow, rain puddles, mud and super rocky terrain, they have maintained there water proof ness almost 100% but I live in Washington state and that says it all, they are amazingly comfy right out of the box and super warm which is nice during those long cold snow hikes. The only complaint with these is that they are a little to big because the company doesn’t make half sizes of the shoe and I wear a 11 1/2 and I had to get a 12. I would rather get just a little to big than to small especially for the hiking aspect of things. I just went and bought an extra pair of insoles for them and their perfect now for the most part. I am someone who understands you get what you pay for and I feel with these that you get a whole lot more for the 50$ price tag! These are great hiking shoes if your just looking to get a pair and you don’t want to spend over the 100$ price tag, you won’t be disappointed! ... show more

  • Solid Shoe - Minor Issues
Size: 11 Color: Brown/Black/Tan
Leaving a quick review as this was a gamble purchase that has worked out. I usually get a pair of summer work shoes like Merrells or Keens. Mostly for working outside mowing and doing light farm work at my parents. I usually crush them over the course of a summer. I have a pair of heavier boots for serious work. This was a "why not try it for around $45 with a 10% off coupon." Anyway - one month in and here are my comments: 1. I read other reviews and just switched out the laces with Gripstrings (They have their own website and work pretty well). Sounds like the ones that come with the shoes are no good, so I didn't even bother finding out. 2. They do not have a protected toe shield like steel-toe or something similar. They just have a rubber toe cap for minor protection and waterproofing. 2. They are tougher and more rugged than I anticipated. Seem solid with good foot support and firm sole. I've put it through the paces over the past month and nothing has gone sideways quality wise. Worked all day in the mud the other week landscaping and stayed dry. I also like the rubber toe cover for working outside in wet conditions. 3. The shoe tongue is slightly undersized in my opinion - doesn't leave much space for the lace at the tope and it can cause the lace to pop off the tongue and drive into the top of your foot. Not a major issue once they are broken in but a few more millimeters of shoe tongue would be a good improvement. 4. I did get a rub burn on the top left ankle after the first use, which has never happened with Merrells or Keens. Not sure what that was about, but a couple of band aids and breaking the shoe in better solved the problem. Anyway - a good solid shoe to consider for the price. Nothing much to complain about. Once they are broken in you should be good to go. I would say it took me about two total days working outside to get them in good working shape. I figure if they survive the summer - may be an annual purchase. ... show more

  • Solid value, good design.
Size: 10 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
I was pleasantly surprised to find these shoes to be of very good value, especially at this price point. Over the years I've tried and like Solomon, Merrell, Oboz and other higher end hiking shoes. Most of the time you do get what you pay for. This time, the NORTIV 8 gave more than the price of admission. Many consumers are getting tired of paying the "brand tax" on popular items and so many other manufacturers are quickly catching up with quality, and design, for less. Testing: The purpose for purchasing these shoes was for camping and hiking. I took along back up shoes, but never needed them. Of course I did a pre-break in with these prior to leaving and had zero problems. Very little break in was required and they did not over soften and held their shape and support. While on an adventure, I had the opportunity to test them in wet conditions and they kept my feet dry. Traction is moderate but worked on slick shale rock with minimal problems. The tread is not so aggressive and you can still walk into a store and not feel like you are walking on trail running shoes. The tread is best described as trail freindly and won't collect globs of mud. The tread design easilly evacuates mud and debris. In all fairness, I did replace the insole, which is something I do on all shoes and boots. The insole that came with these are actually okay, but maybe a little too spongy for my needs. Sizing seems accurate for US feet and with a medium weight hiking sock, they fit fine. The color and design are modern, the shoe laces are of very good quality and even comes with a spare lace. These shoes also clean up easilly after being trashed in mud. Longevity is unknown, but I walk the local trails and bicycle paths and will probably get bored with these shoes before they need replaced. Now I'm considering their mid-height version as well. For the price point, they serve a solid place in the shoe game. ... show more

  • Great Shoes for the Price
Size: 9.5 Color: Black/Dark/Grey
I bought these shoes because they stated they are water proof and because it had a ton of positive reviews. I can say, I have used the shoes now like 4 times to play Disc Golf and can say they are very comfortable and they are water proof for a light rain or very wet grass. My only complain is that they are very bulky but other than that, I would recommend them and I would buy them again. ... show more

  • Not for every day use?
Size: 11 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
They fit great, feel good and look good. But I can’t wear them all day. My feet are so humid after wearing them, stinky. Not sure if all waterproof shoes are that way. Anyone else have this experience? Sorry for the ugly feet pic.

  • Good value
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
I’ve had these shoes for about 5 months I wear them around the farm all day bout every day and they are still waterproof as day one and have held up very well. You won’t find a pair of Nikes last like these I promise and for the price there are zero complaints
