  • Great hiking boots
Size: 11 Color: Black
I use these boots for work, These boots are comfortable, no break in period needed, they actually have a little bounce to them as far as the cushion and sole, I would definitely buy these again

  • Good width up front, sturdy construction, a bit stiff and warm
Size: 12 Color: Dark Brown
Nortiv appears to have two different versions of the “Nortiv 8” hiker, either that or they are changing styles. I had actually just purchased one, along with two other ‘big name’ brands to find something to replace my really comfortable pair that wore out by another manufacturer that unfortunately no longer makes hiking boots. The Nortiv 8 that I bought (differentiated from these by having 3 metal eyelets at the top instead of 2) were not comfortable, with a really high arch that felt one sided. I sent them back. These “NORTIV 8 Men's Hiking Boots Waterproof Lightweight Hiking Shoes” cost about $15 more, but are much better. They appear similar, except for the number of top metal eyelets (this one has 7 total lace holes/eyelets, the other had 6). This pair is much more comfortable without the strange offset arch. The sole is grippy without being prone to holding mud. The fit is spot on (for a 12). I especially like how the toe box area is wide inside the shoe. They aren’t wide shoes, but they don’t have that tight fit where the toes start that some other boots do. Another nice feature is that the pull on loop is nice and big. There are two shortcomings. First, they take a while to break in. I guess I was spoiled by a few other mid height hiking boots I had that felt almost like high sneakers and needed little break in. These are somewhat stiff, especially above the midpoint. Second, they don’t breathe especially well, probably because they use a membrane waterproofing system instead of a surface treatment. The membrane has better waterproofing, but the tradeoff is warmth. It’s not so bad that I won’t use them on a warm weather hike that might be muddy, but I might not on a desert hike. Value wise, they are great given that they cost less than half some other brands. ... show more

  • BIG COMFORT SMALL PRICE
Size: 12 Color: Dark Brown
I checked out all the five star reviews and decided to try these. GREAT boots for the price. Very comfy right out of the box. No idea how long they might last. Don't care. If they hold up for a year that is 15 cents per day. Get a fair price and use the product as long as it lasts. Start over. OR pay BIG bucks and have big expectations. I may go ahead and get the black version of these boots cuz I like em that much ... show more

Still going after a couple weeks. Just as good as the manoa boots from Nike and any Timbs we have bought.

  • Decent boots
Size: 8.5 Color: Black
Feel comfortable but materials are cheap! Lucky that they are for work so it doesn't matter to me. It's good and cheap. But, for gifting or anything important they are not worth it. Well, from my pair I can see the edges line with glues. As you can see in second picture the heel grip loop rip as soon as I tried them on. I know it happens eventually after wear and tear but as soon as just received them and put the box is crazy. I will purchase them again when they go on sale but paying full price are not worth it ... show more

  • Fit was okay
Size: 11 Color: Dark Brown
Fit was okay, as it has a lot of volume, which is not good for someone with flat feet. As a result, I need to use spacers under the tongue to help with the fit. My foot feels stable when laced up and the heel stays in place for the most part. I haven't had the opportunity to hike in the boots going down a long incline to test how well they perform. My one concern is the ventilation of the boots. I realize the boots are suppose to be waterproof, however, there is no indication of what materials are used beyond leather, rubber, and "Oxford fabric." I cannot tell if these will release moisture from sweat or not. ... show more

  • Comfort from the first step.
Size: 10.5 Color: Dark Brown
Regarding hiking boots, the journey from box to trail often involves uncomfortable breaking in—a rite of passage for many outdoor enthusiasts. However, I recently discovered a pair of men's hiking boots that defy this unwritten rule, offering unparalleled comfort straight out of the box. These boots are not just a piece of gear but a game-changer for hikers who value comfort, durability, and protection against the elements. Their immediate comfort struck me when I slipped my feet into these boots. Unlike hiking boots that require a few wears to soften up and conform to your feet, these boots felt like they were made for my feet right from the start. This instant comfort did not come at the expense of quality or durability. On the contrary, these boots are built to withstand the rigors of rough terrain and the challenges of outdoor adventures. The boots' sturdy construction is evident in every stitch and seam, promising longevity and reliability on the trail. Whether navigating rocky paths, muddy trails, or snowy landscapes, these boots held up impressively, providing excellent traction and stability. The robust design ensures that your feet are well-protected against bumps and scrapes, allowing you to focus on the beauty of your surroundings rather than where you step. Another standout feature of these hiking boots is their ability to keep feet warm in cold conditions. My feet remained comfortably warm during chilly hikes, a testament to the boots' excellent insulation properties. This warmth does not come at the cost of excessive weight, as the boots maintain a reasonable balance between insulation and overall weight, making them suitable for long treks without causing fatigue. However, these boots might not be the best choice for hiking in hot weather. The same features that provide warmth and protection in colder climates can lead to overheating on warmer days. The boots' limited breathability means that your feet might get uncomfortably warm during hikes in high temperatures, so it's essential to consider the climate when planning your outdoor activities. In conclusion, these men's hiking boots are a remarkable find for anyone who values comfort, durability, and protection on their hiking adventures. They offer an exceptional experience from the first step, eliminating the dreaded break-in period and allowing you to enjoy your hikes from day one. While they may not be the best option for hot weather hikes, their performance in more excellent conditions and rough terrains is unmatched. If you're looking for a reliable pair of hiking boots that won't disappoint you, these are worth considering. ... show more
